The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Despite being #22 in the NPI, this team is actually still in a great spot to make the NCAAs. If they learn to take care of business at home, they should be on the right side of the bubble.
College Hockey is abuzz for the Spengler Cup and the USCS right now. However, they face off against Orono legends Devin Shore and Jakub Sirota in the semis
Maybe it's a hot take, but Drew seems very reasonable to me. He is pessimistic but generally provides his logic. I've never gotten the sense he was actively rooting against the team either, even if he doesn't expect to win.
Maine is #14 in the USCHO poll. The teams immediately above them: UCONN, BC, Northeastern. So the media still has us with the top tier of Hockey East.
UNH somehow isn't ranked.
I'm happy for him. I think he transfers again this offseason and does a grad year in the Big10. Pro contracts are hard to find in the AHA.
EDIT: This assumes the NCAA loses the 5-year/4-season rule case
I agree coming back multiple times is a good sign, but don't let the result cover the symptoms. The play right now just isn't at the level it should be. Hopefully the winter break hits the reset button.
The USHL plays the expanded schedule as well. Its less a CHL thing and more a freshman in general thing. But I would hope that point would have been stressed by now....
I like where your head is at, but there is no substitute for on-ice leadership. I don't want to harp too hard on Djury, but to have a letter while pretty consistently making mental mistakes makes it pretty hard to take your voice seriously. Why should the underclassmen look to someone getting...
Based on the press conference, the only goal for the rest of the season is fixing culture and getting by in. The short turnaround this week is going to tell us a lot about where their heads are at
You said literally nothing with respect. You fired off almost a dozen posts dancing on Barr's failure this weekend, elaborated on literally nothing, then disappear when the team wins games. You deserve all the criticism you get
Unfortunately I agree. Maine has already lost as many home games as they did all of last season though. The recipe for this team to climb up the NPI rankings is sweeping at home and at least splitting on the road.
