The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I agree. That's why I love a lot of the portal additions Barr has made like Harrison Scott that come in with experience but with years of eligibility left. Ironically, Max Scott has 2 years of eligibility and is one of McMahon's top defensive forwards in the portal.
EDIT: Adding a link to...
What a crappy ending to the greatest season I have ever seen for Maine hockey. That's an important point for me to stress on behalf of us that attended during the Gendron era (and followed along during the later Whitehead years). We used to fight to avoid road games in the first round of the...
Here are some very legit stats that prove Maine will win:
- Big 10 is 0-3 in the NCAAs (and 0-2 vs Hockey East)
- The easternmost team went 4-0 in games yesterday. Maine is THE easternmost team in college hockey.
- Maine has literally never lost to Penn State
- Maine is undefeated against common...

They are the 20th worst team in GA/G and the only team in the tournament field allowing over 3 goals/game. However, they have the seventh highest scoring offense.
Interestingly, Maine is 4-1-1 against teams scoring more than Penn State.
The difference between me and Drew is that I actually want Maine to win.
But if Maine is a 65% favorite to win each game, that's still a 42% chance to reach the Frozen Four. THAT'S GREAT ODDS but still less likely than the 58% chance someone else wins it.
I don't think it's crazy to pick an upset in the region. Maine should absolutely be the favorite to come out of the region but if you asked me to pick between Maine and the field, I'm taking the field.
Augustine is a peculiar inclusion. He has the worst GAA and SV% of the 4. If he was facing more shots on a bum team, I would get it. But MSU is as solid a team as there is. I would personally vote Tracy, Fowler, Boija, Augustine
