The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Endicott didn’t move in the NPI. Adrian won and went from 7 to 5. UNE did not play and went from 5 to 6. Salve did not play and went from 6 to 7. There was nothing too surprising from the NPI tonight.
I don't think so. They were scrambling to fill out their schedule last minute and named their head coach 3 weeks before the season started. This wasn't some calculated play from them. This didn't become a real possibility until early January when Schultz from Geneseo called them out mid-game...
Thanks for the clarification. The general consensus here is that the NPI does not work for hockey, D3 especially. Mostly due to the lack of east/west matchups.
Chatham 8-1 at home (.88%), 9-3 away (.75%), 2-0 neutral (100%)
Salve 7-1 at home (.875%), 7-1 away (.875%), 3-1 neutral (.75%)
Two more away losses for Chatham results in Salve's weighted win% to be 4.5 points higher than Chathams?
Hypothetically speaking Chatham's SOS should get a boost this...
It wouldn't have guaranteed them an at large, though. Chatham did exactly that, has a better raw win% than Salve, and sits at 15. I fail to understand how Salve's SOS is marginally higher than Chatham's, but their weighted win % is substantially higher.
You should be rewarded for beating good teams at least, if not more, the same amount as you are penalized for losing to bad teams. That is not the case. The qwb is meaningless.
Just as big of a question mark is how Babson is sitting ahead of Aurora.
Babson 18-3-2, 80.292 wgt win%, 70/91 SOS, 0.068 QWB
Aurora 20-4-1, 77.741 wgt win%, 59/91 SOS, 0.468 QWB (3rd highest QWB)
This shows us that QWB has very little effect on the NPI, and playoff wins won't make much of a...
You seem awfully knowledgable about the inner dwellings of the team to “have no skin in the game”. It’s not very hard to narrow it down to which player you are. Again I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you.
yOu ArE dUmBeR tHaN i ThOuGhT, haven’t heard that one before from you. Parents should have zero involvement with a team starting at like PeeWee. Norbert seems to have their own problems, stick to investigating those.
Nobody on Utica is getting a full ride. Heenan built the program from scratch, he is the reason there are more butts in the seats for UU games compared to Comets games. Hats off to what Trine has built, but have they ever had a better season than Utica in their existence?
I hate to break it to you, Plattsburgh isn't winning the SUNYAC. We have no idea how the NPI will react to wins/losses in the playoffs. Salve has played one game since January 27 against Keene St, and has jumped from 10 to 8 since then.
