The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Ah, we're back to the chicken and egg question. Wouldn't it be fair to say that the institution and coach must share a vision and work in concert to build a program? I think so. UNH has no vision for hockey anymore let alone a will to execute a vision for success. Blaming it on Souza is...
Great post. The problem, according to Buford and Meathead, is high scoring forwards are inherently unlikable prima donnas . Accordingly, players like Ryan Conmy have no place at UNH. High goal scorers are bad for team morale.
As we know UNH has lost Jesse Allecia to Dartmouth. Well, just take a look at what is likely a major reason:

Dartmouth is adding 13000 feet addition to Thompson and is renovating the existing 11000 structure. It's going to be...
I haven't been following Dartmouth but started to once it took recruit Jesse Allecia from UNH. Dartmouth is currently the number 1 hockey team in the country in the only standings that matter - the NCAA NPI Index.
After decades of a lack of commitment to seriously competing in NCAA hockey...
Early bird? Yeah, right, more like mental illness. Sitting up in the middle of the night thinking of Mike Souza. Perhaps we should change your name from Buford to Mr. Creepy
Buford: Nothing is a better example of how little you know about college hockey than how wrong you've been about Mike Cavanaugh and UConn. He took a program in the ashes and with significant support from Connecticut tax payers and an excellent athletic department turned it into a top 10 program.
Oh Meathead, so now you’re bringing your daughters in to this by claiming they are friends with Lavins. If you actually have daughters leave them out of this. It’s not their fault their dad is a weirdo college jock sniffer.
Oh Emily, just phonies Buford and Meathead. Btw, you are small g guilty of the same garbage they are regarding Conmy. But Buford and Meathead are arrogant knuckleheads that have treated decent people like coaches and some players over the years like garbage.
It delights me to no end to know...
Oh, Meathead, you and Buford just can't help it. You two idiots don't realize how creepy you are to obsess on and bother the players. Hockey Refs posts are good natured. He's a level headed loyal fan.
Buford: you’re a hillbilly redneck idiotic. The old sports illustrated writers were fabulous renowned writers. That’s, well, quite a difference , agreed? I do find it funny though you describe the old SI magazine stories as featuring long multi page stories written is small print. You do better...
Nothing says more about Buford's psychiatric problems than this. Pretty sick stuff. By December, Buford will tell us where Souza's children go to school and the names of their teachers. Meathead and Elwood will continue to encourage him.
Buford: you are such an inbred hillbilly loser. It’s not Souza’s fault that you couldn’t make much money. A glimpse of your avatar explains your failures all too well.
Souza is a symptom of a much larger problem, which is UNHs lack of commitment to excellence academically and athletically...
While Buford, Meathead and Scott become hysterical, the rest of us are better off focusing on relevant facts. UNH has played five two game weekends. UNH won all 5 Friday night games and lost all 5 Saturday games. That’s likely immaturity. Coach Souza and the team captains certainly should be...
So he accepted an opportunity to play D1 hockey in the Ivy League most likely for full financial aid instead of opting for UNH. Seems logical. Why are you knocking the coaches for this one?
