The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Well said TK....better than I expressed it. The school is fighting for its existence and some folks don't like the wallpaper in the bathroom LOL. I'm excited for the hockey teams and to see live action tonight for the women's home opener at the barn !
I've been inside and have tickets to the RPI-Union tilt... which were not hard to come by BTW (for those critical of the size of the joint.)
You don't seem to realize what a miracle Union having a new rink really is. Celebrate it !! Schools like Union are an endangered species in the...
Correct on all counts. Not to mention that in today's money, SHU's rink is likely approaching $100mil budget. If the fan base isn't there to fill seats, then it makes ZERO sense to build them. Period.
At least at the moment, the band cannot be located behind the net as this is where the band-aid /temporary ice making equipment is located due to the failure of components of HFH's main refrigeration system. Reports are this issue will be rectified as part of a project (boards, glass and...
You are exactly right. The general rule of thumb from a higher ed business perspective, It's less expensive to help the student (if you can) and keep them enrolled rather than sending them home and then trying to fill that seat. It also often times leads to a student who figures things out...
It's not like they have a choice....they've been limping along on a failed system for several years now. Another year of soft, milky ice is what we're left with. I'll pass on calling dead equipment replacement "renovations" ..ha ha...
In listening to the CHN interview, Phase I work will...
I mentioned that it was different recruiting scenario back then. The art of scouting at any level is trying to determine where a kid is on his development arc. Time will tell how good our coaches are at it.
Some guy named Pirri put up nearly 150 pts in 3 seasons in the OJHL.... and then had a 43pt. campaign the following year at RPI.. LOL (Admittedly, recruiting was different then.)
I'm sure the coaches are still trying to remember names, much less name captains LOL. Given the scarcity of returning upperclassmen, I'll take a WAG and say Goffredo and Matta.
It's possible/likely that the sweaters were already locked into the contract with UA and had them committed to whatever BU-esque home sweater design we were saddled with last year. I do stand by my opinion that the road reds are better than the home whites. But as others have said, I don't...
No news whatsoever. I didn't get there until about 6:15 and they were in the middle of the player intros (yes, the pizza was all gone.LOL) They did the club team first, then the women, then the men. Then the open skate.
No sign of the Prez or Bowers.
A few familiar faces joining the coaching corps at Troy Youth Hockey (for you non-Facebookers, its Murley and Bourbonnais).

It does closely resemble Colgate's interior...with a few more bathrooms and a bar. I don't believe it was the same architect, but it was the same contractor (LeChase).
Sasaki designed Gate's '65 rink -- and in my view, is a master class in melding modern design into the existing campus...
It's starting to feel a bit more real with the ticket party tomorrow....which I am planning on attending. I also bought tickets for the Union game at Mohawk Harbor....looking forward to seeing their new barn.
Apologies if it was posted here already ...but roster photos and some bios are now posted on the team page.
