The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Interesting article about Bemidji's recruiting class, including two kids who played pro games in the ECHL and AHL and managed to get thru NCAA clearinghouse. One of the kids played 49 games in the ECHL...holy moly. It's the wild west out there people ...
I just read RB's recruit spreadsheet....is he really 6'6" ? A guy that big with a scorers touch ? WOW.... Doc's gonna spill his gimlet watching him play in Troy !!! Fingers crossed !
Going to the expense of building a 4K capacity rink for it to only be 1/2 full most of the time is nonsensical and a recipe for red ink. Lest we forget, universities in the northeast are facing an uphill battle of declining enrollments and are fighting for their very futures...Covid only...
Agree Doc. The downgrade is understandable. As I mentioned earlier, the coaching saw and heard enough about his recovery to take a chance. I'll be rooting for him !
Golf outing is Monday 8/25 and classes begin Thursday 8/28. I would expect the players will be on site soon if they aren't already. Ice wasn't down at last check, but I am sure that will happen in the very near future.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm indifferent to the logo change in general. That said, I've not been a fan of recent season sweaters, as they've closely resembled BU knock offs ever since Bowers got here and UnderArmour took over the unis..... But that's just my opinion.
Correct, they're moving to the Toronto suburb ofOshawa. They never managed to get the critical mass of fan support -- they also mentioned the lack of direct flights from Toronto to Albany, and excessively high workers comp insurance costs as driving factors. (No shock given this is being New...
I asked this question a few days ago. Given the lead time on sweater orders and custom embroidery, they'd have had to have had this new logo art work months ago to supply to the apparel company. Time will tell but I bet we won't see it on the sweaters until 2026.
The goal of the new rink is to make it more inviting for fans to attend....thereby leading to a full house. Which helps the team with a great environment for home games AND is very beneficial for recruiting. Kids care about amenities these days, and Union now has the newest rink in the league...
Great insights Doc. As he is 9 months into his return to skating -- his physical therapist undoubtedly has a good grasp on where he's at in recovery. The fact that he's working out with pros and with Giordano makes me believe he is on the right track -- and Lang intimated that in his thoughts...
Agree. 9 months in, you certainly know what the issues are. Lang mentioned he was pretty impressed with progress he's been making --mentioning the video clips he's been getting. Between Giordano and the phys. therapist, they know what they are getting.... time will tell. As I said, low...
I was disappointed you didn't mention to him that you think Gorton stinks, but we'll remind him at the golf outing....always better in person of course. LOL
