The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Yeah. I think we're at the point of the season where we are best sticking with "BU takes care of BU". Protecting the 3rd seed for HE tourney and a #2 seed in the NCAA regional is the goal here and that's done by winning their games.
I don't see much advantage in moving up to #2 in the HE...
The Beanpot always screws with the February scheduling it seems.
And we'll either play well for at least two periods and have a solid but not overwhelming win or.....get blown off the ice. This season is like "When BU takes the ice, the gods flip a coin."
Hence why the aforementioned talk...
Excactly. Consistency is what's missing here. BU will be a dangerous team no one wants to draw in single elimination, but once they do, they actually have a 50/50 chance of blowing us off the ice.
Catching BC and Maine would be a TALL order. Keeping 3rd is the priority at this point. The pack behind BU is tight so a slip could be quite a tumble.
Imagine if Maine had won in regulation these last what now three OTs in a row? They'd be tops of the league with some breathing room.
I've got no illusions they're gonna charge into the national championship or anything, but if they can lock in like the second and third periods, they can take on anyone.
The talent is there, is the consistency?
It'd be nice to see them charge up again though. I mean, it's been what 16...
In a three way tie for 8th. And at the bottom of that with the RPI tie breakers. So effectively 10th in terms of seeing "at the moment" of that PWR chart.
They have been shaky first period in every single game I've watched this year it seems. It seems they are settling more and more in the games now and not losing it to sloppy play so much (the recent Merrimack game excluded). So maybe they'll lock in and peak for the tournaments. We can hope.
At the risk of jinxing it with 1:22 to go...I'm gonna say that when they survived that first period only down 0-1, they had a chance to compete. I didn't expect this though.
Ah so it does! I think the issue was doing 'first clicks' on threads i'd not read on this platform even if i'd read them on the other. It's taking me to first unread now.
Thanks
New look is nice. One thing i can't find that the old platform was where to click to to "most rcent unread post" in a thread. Is that hiding somewhere?
