MLB 2026: The dying of the light

As long as Japan is alive I’m considering them the favorite. But DR has to be the favorite based on how the tournament is gone.

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

US withstands a couple late scares from Canada to win 5-3. The DR jumped on Korea early and ended with a walk-off three run homer to win 10-0 in seven on the mercy rule. USA vs DR Sunday night.

NCAA Hockey 2025- CHA now welcome

ECAC is shaping up to be a bid stealer unless QU and Cornell win two in a row. Otherwise there will be some bubble teams rooting for Dartmouth next week.

NCAA Hockey 2025- CHA now welcome

Seems like the coaches really pushed for it. Nightingale mentioned a scenario that hadn’t happened yet, but would not be ideal for a conference trying to help their best teams in March/April. With the uneven teams and someone needing a bye, it’s possible the conference champ could have a bye the...

2026 Winter Olympics: Thread Title Under Construction

I'm more impressed with wheelchair curling than regular curling. There's no sweeping, so every stone is completely determined by the throw, and they're still able to get spin and stop it in the house.

NHL 2026: The Olympics Will Be Mammoth!

Wings are piling up injuries and gave up two goals in the last 90 seconds to lose in regulation. Hopefully it turns around, but the Olympic break may have just shifted the February collapse to March.

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

It’s better than that. US manager Mark DeRosa was on MLB Hot Stove yesterday morning and mentioned they already clinched. Then post game said he first “misspoke” and then “misunderstood the math” regarding eliminations. AKA he didn’t know the rules. That’s on top of having to be reminded by Ken...

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

Czechia pitcher Ondrej Sartoria, the electrician by day, who struck out Ohtani in the 2023 WBC, pitched 4.2 scoreless against Japan today and received a standing ovation at the Tokyo Dome both when he left the game and when he came back onto the field after the game. He announced he’s retiring...

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

Japan survives a tight one against Australia and clinches their spot in the quarterfinals. The last spot in Group C is up for grabs and a little convoluted due to tiebreakrs. If Australia wins, they're in. If Korea wins, they need to win by 5 but give up only 0 or 1. Meanwhile, Taiwan needs...

The drivers may hate the cars, but that was an incredible first ten laps. Mercedes are so far ahead though, I guess we’ll see if having Oscar and Max in contention changes things for the next couple races, but I don’t know how teams will make up that pace.

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

US pulled away from Brazil with a big 9th for a 15-5 win last night, though Brazil did make it 8-5 at one point. Brazil's roster includes two 17 year old and their first baseman works construction and had to take vacation to play in the WBC. Oh, and Dante Bichette Jr who either dyed his hair...

NCAA Hockey 2025- CHA now welcome

This season is such a mystery. Gophers didn’t bring in any CHL guys, but there should still be enough talent to be better than this. Especially after last week’s series against Michigan. It’s not like there has been a slow slide either. They were conference champs last year.

MLB 2026: The dying of the light

An error that would’ve ended the inning dooms Czechia, giving up a three run shot to Australia that put the Aussies up for good in a 5-1 win. Then in this morning’s game, Ohtani had a grand slam as part of a 10 run second on Japan’s way to a mercy rule 13-0 win in 7 over Taiwan.
