The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I don't know what Larocque was thinking with that pass, and I've liked her for a lot of years. Janecke just decided Larocque's thinking time was over and got after her.
From the Penn State Twitter feed: incoming Penn State freshman forward Matilde Fantin (Team Italy assistant captain) was named Best Forward for the IIHF Division 1 Group B, leading the tournament in points.
Stella Retrum got picked up by Vermont. As a freshman at Penn State, she showed enough promise to be put on a line with Tessa Janecke, but as a sophomore last season she slid down the chart, for whatever reason.
Jessica Ciarocchi, who spent two seasons at Penn State before transfering to Brown, has now transfered from Brown to Mercyhurst. That's kind of interesting from Mercyhurst, seeing as she only managed 15 points in three seasons at Brown.
This transfer portal page (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13vPRhRsYJFIoZLDiwyLOFtzK7iq2wAA4alB_efZVq0Q/edit?gid=0#gid=0) is a lot more updated than the GopherPuckLive portal page.
Stella Retrum has now entered the transfer portal going into her junior year, which isn't a huge surprise, really. As a freshman, she was put on the top line with Tessa Janecke, which should've signaled that she was ready for prime time, but she hasn't put up the numbers that I think Jeff...
The championship game has a radio link for "1070 The Game - Madison's Sports Station". Any idea if they're any good at women's hockey (better than what we'll get from ESPN)?
Okay, this isn't Penn State-related, but it's AHA: Mercyhurst's Thea Johansson is now in the transfer portal going into her senior year, which is a big surprise. I wonder if she has a specific school she's wanting to end her career with, and why it isn't Mercyhurst.
I just went to ESPN+ to watch the hit everyone's talking about, and damn...that was just straight-up dirty. Murphy came from a long way out just to do Harvey like that, and it should have been the end of Murphy's night. At least when Harvey got her back, there was an actual play for the puck...
I definitely wasn't ready for the season to be over, but you have to be happy with a 31-6-1 record and a three-peat of the conference championship. Jeff Kampersal has this program moving in the right direction.
Looking ahead to 2025-26, the Penn State roster doesn't look a whole lot different from this year, as far as number of players by position. Three forwards (Alyssa Machado, Brianna Brooks, and Tiffany Hill) are gone, and two freshman forwards are coming in. On defense, two defenders (Karley...
Naturally, my connection to the stream went into crap mode after the first period, so I missed the rest - maybe that was my computer showing some mercy. Looking at the live stats isn't a reliable way to gauge a game, but Penn State outshot St. Lawrence and had one fewer penalties, so what went...
Well, this one got out of hand in a hurry. St. Lawrence is up 3-0 after the first period. Both teams came out 100 MPH but not doing much offensively for most of the period, and then St. Lawrence just started scoring.
Just adding the link for live stats...
