The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I give UND credit. Came to Hamden in 2021...we went out there in 2022. They played at Cornell last year and now Clarkson this year. I wish more NCHC teams would come east.
Still too new to the conference and an outlier geographically...they are growing as a program but I seem to recall they wanted to be part of the B1G prior. Seems like they would leave if another opportunity popped up...but they are in the best conference.
He should get a lot of playing time there. Only 3 wins last season. 3-28-3 overall. A lot of the conference games were closer than I expected. I guess it was a down year for the NCHC outside of the 2 top teams.
Looking at the forwards in the portal, it doesn't seem like a good pool of experienced talent outside of Conmy (UNH) - and I thought he was rumored to Maine or one of the Boston schools. I don't know enough about the Atlantic hockey guys but seems like we don't take many this year. Hopefully...
I think I saw in the scheduling thread that some of the HE teams were playing a OOC game against each other next season. To me it makes more sense for NU to play us at home instead. But what do I know. Maybe we are not interested.
Edit - Sorry! Responded before I saw the above responses.
Seems like we have been scheduling Northeastern at least one game lately as well. It was weird to me that PSU was just one game last year, but assume it could be 2 in Happy Valley. I would make that trip since my wife is a PSU alumni.
As you said, great first day. Always nice to see the B1G teams lose. That BU-OSU game was crazy in the 2nd. I was watching at work and kept thinking they were showing replays. 5 goals in that short amount of time was exciting hockey.
Looking forward to today’s games. Go Bobcats! Motivation...
Win over Penn St looming large. The team played well against Maine and UNH, but came up short 3 of 4. The stinkers were Dartmouth and Harvard early on. Win at Lynah was a surprise. 24 wins is amazing.
I had hoped/expected this team would grow as the season went on, but the play of MM...
Winning the Whitelaw will be tough based on the games against Cornell and Dartmouth/Clarkson this year. Add in our history in Lake Placid and this being a young team. That being said if we do win the Whitelaw, this may be Rand's best coaching year and should be ECAC coach of the year. Only...
Thanks for those details. Didn't mean to imply they have not contributed. Just feels like those points have been more on the quiet side. Was hoping they would have had bigger years. And you nailed it with the killer instinct...that seems to be the one thing missing. Looking forward to...
Agreed. That has been a process for the freshman. Guys like Pelosi, Schwartz, Groenewold and Borgula really stepping up. Ricketts and Wilmer seem to have bought into the system, but we need Treloar, Cerbone and Marcellus to get hot.
Agree on all points. Really amazing this team was able to win the Cleary Cup. This may have been Rand's best year for coaching, although I think he would admit it was a struggle at times. QU Hockey Blog posted some amazing stats on X. It's crazy how this team ranked near the top at so many...
Hopefully but the scores this weekend are a little smoke and mirrors. It does seem like some are finally buying into the system. However, I still don't trust them in a tight game/OT. They need to play better against the "C" schools to win the Whitelaw.
