17-2 on the scoresheet over the last 2 games and won 7 of the last 8… I’m feeling good. Hamilton is going to be rough after new years but even a 1 point/ENG loss would be a fair result in my book.
It’s still only the inaugural season but I’m also liking what I see for the LEC. Might take a few...
Been a minute, but Salve pulled off a major upset against #14 ranked Bowdoin. A few months ago Salve’s teams looked on the cusp and now they end the fall with a 12-1 record.
DIII Hockey News pointed out they’re sitting in 5th in the NPI and have an added boost to their results with D2 teams...
Plymouth’s hopes to recover their season hinge on closing out with a W vs Anna Maria. Last year Plymouth shut them out at home to clinch their 8th MASCAC season title. Before that, the AmCats beat them 3 meetings in a row. For a small school with a relatively new program, Anna Maria is a program...
Just checked the stat sheet and wow… Plymouth would rather nail freshmen for alcohol than do anything for conduct so I doubt anything will happen for the players involved (aside NCAA/LEC conduct)
Hale and Steele for Plymouth slugged it out on the ice and then were asking for the Salem players...
More to say in the LEC thread, but Plymouth and Salem had an ugly reunion last night in an 8-1 blowout. Salem started strong and held a 1-0 lead at the end of the 1st with Plymouth playing clunky and getting outshot. That point on… pucks and fists fly. Seen well over 50+ games at Hannaway and...
Did anyone else see the shootout block call for Hamilton in Middlebury? Refs butchered the goal call with Midd ending up on the losing end of the shootout. Still a tie on their record but absolutely terrible officiating to end the game.
Cheers!
USM has outperformed which has been cool to see. The familiarity with teams lile Babson and Norwich, mixed with an easier schedule is putting them in a good spot to compete. Obviously hoping Plymouth will get Ws against them, but it should be a tough fight.
Unless Plymouth comes up...
Dartmouth is looking solid so far, but not a ton of non-ECAC matchups. Beating Cornell and Colgate at home gives them some great results, but they still have away trips against both, two games against Quinnipiac and Union, and some other big matchups to be played.
Also wondering what happened...
The LEC gets ready for a quiet end to 2025 with Babson and Norwich done until the new year.
This weekend starts off with Trinity at NEC for the main matchup of the weekend. Saturday sees a cross division matchup between Assumption and West Conn, and a former MASCAC matchup between Plymouth and...
Friday, December 5:
Princeton at Union
Quinnipiac at RPI
Cornell at Clarkson
Colgate at St. Lawrence
Brown at Dartmouth
Yale at Harvard
Saturday, December 6:
Quinnipiac at Union
Princeton at RPI
Colgate at Clarkson
Cornell at St. Lawrence
Yale at Dartmouth
Brown at Harvard
Goals: 68
Biggest disappointment for the LEC so far is NEC. Went from being a surprise contender in one of the toughest conferences to middling in the LEC on a good day. Following up a home loss to UMD by getting two close wins against Keene and West Conn is a rough way to close out the first half. Not...
Been a minute, but Thanksgiving's over and a big week of tournaments is now behind us.
Before Thanksgiving, a few notable results for the 'top 3' teams. Babson had a rough start to the week, with USM pulling off a shootout upset on the road. The next day, Tufts followed up with a 5-1 win...
Friday, November 21:
RPI at Colgate
Union at Cornell
St. Lawrence at Princeton
Clarkson at Quinnipiac
Yale at Brown
Saturday, November 22:
Union at Colgate
RPI at Cornell
Clarkson at Princeton
St. Lawrence at Quinnipiac
Brown at Yale
Goals: 52
Babson's looking like the team to beat in the first half, just we'll have to see once they play some NESCAC opponents around Thanksgiving.
For Plymouth, think we finally returned to form a bit vs UMD, only to lose a bit of steam against Boston. Biggest issues I noticed are (1) they keep...
The only way simple way any of the teams in low ranked conferences will stay relevant and have a chance at recruiting is by having the AQ available to them. Take the worst conference with the MASCAC. Many of the schools that are part of it have historic programs which haven't seen success...
Week 3 is now done. Some more big matchups to help start off the season.
Babson continues their undefeated start, going 6-0 after two close home matches against Norwich and Castleton. Norwich recovers on their second game of the weekend, ending a long away trip with a close win at USM...
Babson edges out Norwich in a big 4-3 W. Huge test and win for the Beavers at home, but see them splitting once Norwich has home ice. UMB with a big shutout win on the road against NEC to begin conference play. USM continues their strong offensive showing to start the season, beating Castleton...
Babson vs Norwich I'd say is biggest matchup of the first half. Should be a big indicator for Babson as their first tough opponent this year. Norwich is quickly getting up to speed after last weekend's wins - so will be another good test travelling between Mass and Maine.
Excited to see...
