RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

The streams from RPITV are very good. I rarely, if ever, have buffering. It may be your computer, but it’s more likely your Internet connection or WiFi. Generally computers that have a CPU/GPU less than 10 years old (preferably with at least 8GB of memory) can handle HD streaming. If it’s...

    RPI Recruit Thread 2025-2026

Looks good. Did Doc get out his checkbook on these guys? Then again, Ralph may be the guy from one of those AI generated Internet articles where the neighbors see him riding around on his bike and are shocked to learn he's been stashing away money for the last 50 years. "I've been saving up...

This is depressing. I’ve got tickets for the games at Q and Yale plus the Freakout, but I’m wondering if I’ll even want to go.

Given the plunge the poor kid has made down the junior hockey levels his injury must have been on the order of Javanovic's.

    Quinnipiac @ RPI 12/5/2025

What we usually call 50/50 pucks are more like 90/10. Not only is Q always on the move and faster, but they are much, much stronger and more skilled in stick battles. It will be interesting to see if Lang sits a few people tomorrow and heaven help us if Krawchuk is hurt.

Even money the place finishes emptying now that the fans got to throw their teddy bears.

    RPI at Niagara 11/29/25

Good to get a sweep and I’ll gladly take it. However, it still doesn’t appear the Engineers put together back-to-back peak efforts. Good enough to win in this case but improvement needed when playing the heart of the schedule.

    RPI at Niagara Friday 11/28

Just checking in. 4-1 sounds good. How has the flow of play gone? Are we winning the play-by-play or just the goaltending battle?

RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

Let’s hope the men change the last month’s disturbing pattern of only playing one game per weekend. They’ve shown they can be competitive with teams comparable to most of the remaining schedule when they play a solid 60 minutes (beating Union and Clarkson while losing close road games to...

That may have been one of the worst major power plays I’ve ever seen.

    RPI Recruit Thread 2025-2026

I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. We’ve seen players’ NZ grades bounce about (in both directions) as they age. In this case a Neutral Zone scout has probably seen him a few times and gave a 3.5. Eric Lang, who lives in Avon and is involved with the Nor’easter program (via his son) where...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Four decommitting at the same time sounds as if the coaches did a review of the current status of the roster, future needs, and the new recruiting playing field and decided that those four no longer fit. Unless they each have the same advisors it would be incredibly unusual for four to draw the...

RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

Perhaps not the most exciting game, but it provided a fine win last night before another friends and family crowd at the field house. As I said in the game thread just before the third period, that’s exactly the sort of game we need to play in order to have a chance of success with this roster...

    UMass Lowell @ RPI - 11/15/25

Add Klassek, who has been impressive, plus Lemieux and Hilditch, who have shown flashes and I expect to develop into solid D1 defensemen, and we could have an extremely strong class on the back line. It may be a bit like a large animal being digested by a boa constrictor (bulge moving through...

RPI 2025–26: Off the Critical List and In Recovery

I know the sherpa part was a joke, but it added to a stream of complaints about parking, drinking, etc. I know the modern fan expects more in the way of convenience than was the norm, especially with the games now on TV, but our primary problem is winning games. We're 1-6 at home, but coming...
