Random thoughts from this weekend…
on Friday, Canisius defeated Clarkson, 3-1, in Buffalo. Hopefully our coaching staff will watch that video in preparation for our series against Canisius on October 17-18.
on Friday, Quinnipiac defeated Boston College, 4-3, in Boston. Clearly QU is going to...
The best article that I have read so far on the NCAA Power Index (NPI), which replaces the PairWise Ranking (PWR)…

Well, I drove up from Owego, N.Y., today, parked for free, and paid my $12 for tonight’s Franklin Pierce at Union women’s non-conference game at the M&T Bank Center, which is lifetime arena #148 for me. I see now that the center ice seats are cushioned and have arm-rests and cup-holders...
Thanks for the heads-up. I went to Clinton, N.Y., a couple of years ago (2022), thinking that I was finally going to log-in the historic Arena… and instead went to Hamilton College’s rink (for a game against Middlebury College). Live and learn. he he he
I tend to agree with DDobert24. I went to the Open House, sat in a seat roughly equivalent to my seat at Colgate, and was trying to look through a hand-railing when looking at the far goal. No arm-rests for the seats, but no deadly cup-holders at my feet either. Double the number of restrooms...
Shabby,
I purchased my tickets online just now for the Colgate vs. Union exhibition game on Sunday, October 5, at the Clinton (N.Y.) Arena.
Will you attend the game?
Thanks!
Tom S.
Apparently Colgate is going to Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 2026 for the annual Friendship Four tournament with UConn, Providence and Minnesota - Duluth.
Thanks, Shabby! I messaged the Clinton Arena on Facebook and this was the response… “This will be a fundraiser for Clinton Youth Hockey and as soon as I have more information, I will post it.”
Shabby, I am thrilled at the prospect!! I asked Colgate if they are handling tickets and apparently they are not. So, before the event, I need to ask Clinton Arena how it will be handled. I do not want to miss this opportunity. Thanks!
I am not a fan of polls, but I likes the 10-team Atlantic Hockey America’s preseason coaches’ poll, which has...
Canisius #7, and
RIT #8.
Colgate plays both at home in non-conference action this early season.
Magoo, thanks for waking everybody up from our summer sleep. As I have said before, I enter each new college hockey season figuring that I will see Colgate and Omaha in the national championship game come mid-April. I lower my expectations as the season progresses. Having said that, I would be...
Rainman, thanks! I don't use Instagram, so the Michigan State series is a HUGE surprise. In fact, today, just seconds after seeing the website schedule, I RSVP'ed to a wedding invitation from friends in Pittsburgh, Penna., for Saturday, November 29 (since Colgate wasn't playing that weekend)...
