Wow! Wow! Wow!
A much-needed win, for the team and its fans, against a nationally-ranked opponent.
Goaltending was very good as Reid Dyck faced 38 shots.
Defense did well going into the defensive shell in the third period and doing exactly what they needed to do to preserve the lead and gain...
Reid Dyck led the team onto the ice for ‘Gate tonight. Roan Clarke likely for Dartmouth.
Halfway through the first period…
Dartmouth 9, Colgate 1, SOG.
Shortly thereafter… Jacob Napier is a sniper!! From Jack Brandt and Robby Newton. Two shots, one goal.
Colgate penalty (tripping)...
No offense of which to speak.
Minimally better defense.
Good goaltending, but they can’t do everything. They need help.
Deer and Amish buggies on the roads going up.
Snow, deer and an Amish buggy on the roads going home. The big snowstorm coming.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings (with the...
Andrew Takacs led Colgate out onto the ice for tonight’s contest against NPI#19 Harvard. Ben Charette did the same for Harvard.
Colgate penalty (cross-checking). Killed.
Colgate penalty (interference). Harvard PPG.
Harvard 17, Colgate 6, SOG after one.
Harvard 1, Colgate 0, score after...
Well, I am a happy camper tonight...
First, I saw 12 deer cross in front of me on the way up to Hamilton today (east of Eaton) and I saw 9 more on the way home in five different sightings, and I didn't hit a one!
Second, Colgate continued its regular season non-losing streak against Princeton...
Andrew Takacs led Colgate out onto the ice for tonight’s pre-game warmup. Arthur Smith did the same for Princeton. Reid Dyck and Nick Haas are also dressed for Colgate.
Matching roughing penalties. Killed.
2:33 remaining in first period and Princeton penalty (interference). Killed...
GreenCoat, I totally agree with you (again). The entire 2022-23 season, I thought, 'this is Rand Pecknold's one-and-done season; with fifth-years and transfers, this is his only chance to shine in the NCAA Tournament.' He proved me right in Tampa, Fla., and then has proved me wrong ever since...
Red, check this release out. We are in the ‘Anything Goes’ phase of the NCAA/NHL Farm Team administration.

Well, since no one else wants to comment, post-game...
I honestly believe that if Rand Pecknold had given Colgate a two-man advantage the entire game, 'Gate would have won it.
If he had given 'Gate a one-man advantage for the full sixty minutes, I am not saying that Colgate would have...
Reid Dyck led NPI#48 Colgate onto the ice tonight for the pre-game warmup. Dylan Silverstein did the same for NPI#10 Quinnipiac. Andrew Takacs and Jack Olson are also dressed for ‘Gate.
Colgate penalty in first minute of play. Killed.
Very intense play in first five minutes.

Shabby,

Am headed to Hamilton now from Queensbury. Excited to begin the stretch run of ECAC Hockey league games. Hopefully everyone is as healed, rested and psyched as I am…
HOLY COW, GreenCoat!! I just looked and I think that the last time we lost to Princeton in the regular season was pre-Covid, pre-Class of ‘65 Arena… we lost both regular season games to Princeton in 2012-13. That’s wild!! Thanks!
Bob Prier was the Princeton coach in 2012-2013.
Friday, January 16:
Yale
Union
Quinnipiac
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Saturday, January 17:
RPI
Union
Princeton
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Monday, January 19:
Harvard
Goals: 65
There was not one upset on Friday in 5 ECAC games.
And on Saturday, in 4 conference match-ups, Union over Princeton was the only upset.
Why is the 12-team ECAC Hockey conference so predictable?
I love looking at the combined travel partners’ points to see which pair is the toughest in the league. Right now, it is Princeton/Quinnipiac… and they are coming to an arena near you soon.
With 'Gate off this weekend, it might be a good time to look at the rest of the ECAC, especially those seriously looking for at-large bids to the NCAA tournament...
#6 Dartmouth, hosting #17 Harvard,
#10 Quinnipiac, hosting #27 Union and #56 RPI,
#11 Cornell, hosting #46 Alaska for two...
Since Shabby of ‘Gate chimed in on here, I will as well with random thoughts from this weekend…
I think my beloved Colgate is inferior to New Hampshire this season. NPI doesn’t lie… N.H. is #24 today and ‘Gate is #47. There are only 63 programs. Mike Harder scheduled an uber-tough...
