It’s for my own mental health, Rainman. When we win, I am thrilled that we won. When we lose, at least I got a point in Pick ‘Em.
And it is the reverse with Cornell. When they win, I get a point! And when they lose…
In this season's ECAC Pick 'Em contest, the top two pickers were Rainman and Shabby, who tied with 84 points.
Rainman is the champion, however, as he beat Shabby on the total-goals differential.
Congrats to you both, topping 23 other ECAC Hockey fans/contestants!!
Shabby, with next weekend’s schedule being what it is, I am going to go to the RPI at Clarkson game on Friday and then the Yale at Colgate game on Saturday. Please consider my offer to pick you up late on Saturday afternoon (on my way home from Ogdensburg via the Westernville Cemetery) take you...
It was a bizarre game as it developed.
At times it was hard to keep up with the goals in quick succession. And then it became hard to keep up with all the penalties. he he he
But, I am really happy for the seniors. It was definitely their night. Although I feel bad for Nick Haas. “We hardly...
Andrew Takacs led the team out onto the ice for Senior Night’s pregame warmup.
Cameron Smith did the same for Saint Lawrence.
Six seniors started for ‘Gate. All ‘cept Nick Haas.
Saint Lawrence draws first blood.
Minutes later, Saint Lawrence scored a beauty.
And seconds later, Tyson Doucette...
My frustration most of this season has been how many penalties that we have taken.
In my mind, it is pretty bad when we are averaging more penalty minutes than our travel partner.
Our coach is openly saying that we are trying to be more physical 'up to a line.'
When I hear that, my reaction is...
There aren’t many positive things to say tonight other than there are four ECAC Hockey teams wishing that they were in our shoes and hosting the single-elimination game next weekend. And one of them is our opponent tomorrow night. Go ‘Gate!
Reid Dyck led his team onto the ice for Colgate tonight.
Shane Soderwall did the same for Clarkson.
Colgate penalty (tripping). Killed.
Colgate 9, Clarkson 6, SOG after one.
Colgate 0, Clarkson 0, score after one.
Less than a minute into the second, Clarkson scores.
And Colgate evens it...
Random question… I arrived at the Class of 1965 Arena early today, so I am sitting and relaxing outside the Sullivan Suite. I just noticed that the Silver Puck Award plaques show Gary Ross ‘77 as the last recipient... in 2022-23. Is that correct? Thanks.
When I went up to RPI on Saturday, I spent the entire first period with my friend there, a long-time season ticket holder.
He said many fellow season ticket holders and long-time RPI fans have just been beaten down the last 20+ years.
He and his wife used to make all the away games. No longer...

Just a sincere 'thanks' from me for being so prompt in posting these weekly updates.
By Sunday afternoon, I am curious to see how I did relative to everyone else and, 9 times out of 10, you have already posted the weekend update when I look.
It is appreciated!
Okay, here we are tonight, after all the games have gone 'final'...
ECAC Hockey...
Quinnipiac 47, Dartmouth 43, Cornell 41, Princeton 35 points,
Harvard 32, Union 31, Colgate 27, Clarkson 26 points,
Yale 21, Saint Lawrence 20, RPI 20, Brown 17 points.
Six points are the max any team can score...
Final post, since I have been using the standby alcohol tonight...
Historically, when Quinnipiac wins, the average score is 5-1 against Colgate.
Tonight's score was 5-2. I will give Quinnipiac the benefit of the doubt on that, as they, not surprisingly, suffered the sole five-minute major...
Reid Dyck in goal for Colgate tonight. Matej Marinov in goal for Quinnipiac.
Matching penalties (roughing). Killed.
Quinnipiac penalty (cross-checking). Killed.
It's still scoreless, but this isn't going to end well if we keep giving the puck away in our own end. 13-4 QU SOG with 8:11...
Shabby, I wasn't gonna post on here 'til I saw that you did. he he he
Anyway, we own our wins and our losses (and our tie). As you know, I am not a denier of history.
Today's research... how has Colgate fared against Quinnipiac in the Class of 1965 Arena era?
