The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I feel bad talking about any other teams in this thread, so let's get this back on track. Utica played in it's first (and only for like the next 10 years) frozen four in Lake Placid in 2013. Not sure how far Utica is from Lake Placid, but that one only had about 1300 in attendance...
I just looked it up and officially it was just over 5.6k for the semifinal against Norwich and just under 5k for the Championship against Plattsburgh. I don't know where I got 8K from but I swear I remember that being the attendance...
I thought that venue sat like 10-12K so that explains some...
There was over 8,000 in attendance when SNC won its first (of 5) National Championships over SUNY Plattsburgh in 2008. You remember that game, right? Bryan Hince claiming that Marc Belanger had an NHL level shot on the game winning goal? Good stuff…
I’ve always said that the best teams only concern themselves with Pool A berths into NCAA’s, but tonight SNC may have blown any opportunity at a Pool C.
Bummer about Hartley. From a distance I liked his game and thought he was a grinder.
No, Bill Parcells. Dennis Green is the one who said "they are who we thought they were" in reference to the Chicago Bears after a loss like 20 years ago.
While Jon Cooper didn't play beyond high school, he has a law degree and won national championships coaching in all three Tiers of JR hockey before moving on to the AHL. Incredible story for sure.
I think it's more of a mutual respect thing between SNC and Point now... and a shared animosity towards Adrian (mostly the early Krug coached era.) The fact that Coghlin played for, coached, and won National Championships at Point also ties the two programs together in perpetuity.
Anyone make it down to Appleton last night? I’m curious what the forward lines and defensive pairings looked like. Who was on the top line with Dombrowsky?
