    Salve doesn’t belong in the tournament, but they do deserve a tip of the hat. That team was basically done last summer, and almost every single player was in the portal. What they have achieved this season, despite the weak schedule, is commendable.

    Totally. Along the lines of "next goal is huge" in a 2-0 game. Aurora is 4-0 vs. Adrian this season. That should be a great NCHA semifinal should both teams make it there.

    Yeah, that one stung. Third period leads used to be a done-deal for SNC. But, like you said, all of D3 has really leveled up. It's a bummer that Utica couldn't follow through the rest of the way though - I prefer to have our season ended by the champion.

    I’d argue that Middlebury is the greatest dynasty in D3 history - they won 5 in a row, and then had a separate 3 peat run… and likely would have more if the NESCAC (or should I say some division of the ECAC?) allowed its teams to participate in the NCAA tournament sooner than it ultimately did.

    Ultimately, I suppose my opinion is: Bring Back the Smoke Filled Room - the eye test matters. No amount of new math can convince me that Bowdoin is the third best team in NCAA D3 hockey and Salve is the sixth best, while Aurora and Trine are 10 and 18 respectively.

    I guess I don't get it. What do you think is the "strongest" conference? The NESCAC? They have the #2 and #3 teams in NPI. To be 0-2 against Adrian, 0-2 against Hobart, 0-2 vs. Geneseo and 0-1 against Hamilton and still in the top 10 of NPI (and in front of Genny) defies logic. Clearly you are...

    I remember that last year was basically a true seeding bracket, but don't remember - was the 500 mile rule disregarded/eliminated for the first round games? Eau Claire is over 500 miles for Adrian.
