They are correct. I was watching. The second SCS goal was interesting. St Cloud skater skating across the Duluth goal mouth, pretty much tripped by a Bulldog, falls into Gascon and her stick while Gascon was to the left of the blue ice, having blocked the puck away to the opposite side boards...

    WCHA 2025-26

Is this in response to "ICE in Minneapolis", or specifically to today's "Trump blocks visas from 75 counties" news reports today. 15 countries affected; Trump Admin reacted by saying athletes and officials are exempted, but fans are not...

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Picard hard and awkwardly into the goal post, direct hit onto her right knee; maybe the knee cap, maybe a bit below. Clearly in pain, straight to the locker room, little or no weight on the knee. Could be a bad one, fingers crossed it isn't. UW up 2-0 after one period.

According to the on-screen graphic, Sloane Mathews starting at forward for Wisconsin today. This portal stuff is really getting out of hand!

    2025 Poll thread

The thing that worries me about it: if the seeding were that way at the end of the year, Duluth would be playing in Madison in the 8-vs-9 game, with the winner (Duluth) playing UW in a win-or-go-home game. That's scary.

    2025 Poll thread

FWIW: the human polls and the NPI agree, until you get to Princeton and Duluth, with NPI having Duluth at #9 and not #8.

Any info on why Swiderski and Raunio were out this weekend?

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

I just had a look at the video, and the rule book. After the puck goes up into the Duluth bench, causing the stoppage of play, one of the linesmen goes over to Kaehler and - I'm guessing - tells him he missed a "by definition" spear. While they're reviewing, the refs call that linesman in to...

One goal apiece for the four non-goalie Badgers heading for the Olympics (plus one for Gorbatenko). LOL

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

I wonder if it is something "by definition". Player down on the ice, puck laying on top of him/her. If you try to move the puck with your stick, it's "spearing", no matter how 'gently' you manage to do so. But the saying in basketball when there's a bad foul call, and then the player missed the...

The past number of years, local Madison TV has picked up the "My9" TV broadcast of games from Duluth, but for some reason that didn't happen yesterday. But it is today. The game today will be on "MeTV" in Madison: 15.4 over the air, channel 192 on Spectrum cable, DirecTV 77, etc etc.

In three weeks, she's the starting goalie. Maybe easing her into that role isn't a bad idea.

The really infuriating stuff related to Una Vajagic and her decision to transfer comes around 16:30. (And let's hope such agent interference and borderline tampering never comes to hockey. But there's a decent chance it will; the more successful the PWHA is, the better the chance it will.)

    Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

An article from ESPN this morning says the head of the IIHF told them "parts of the main hockey rink for the Milan Cortina Olympics might not be fully finished on time, but the playing surface, practice facilities and dressing rooms will be ready when the puck drops for the men's event Feb. 11."...

In the WCHA? Or other leagues? Because averaging only 20 minutes in a league where 4th lines don't get much time implies either all three lines are getting the same 20 minutes, or the "first line" isn't really the first line. (And we're in danger of starting a discussion of the "mean value...
