UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Talking about Track and Field/XC at UML specifically.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Yes, I am glad they added the DSA rules to the settlement, but it seems like it was too little, too late for a lot of athletes. I know quite a few that transferred already before the DSA proposition was made/approved. And future years' recruiting classes will suffer, too, since they won't be...

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

I would agree it is good news for hockey. Unfortunately, for some other teams, such as Track and Field (who will have to trim their roster size significantly to remain under the settlement limits, and who will also probably not receive a cent in the revenue share) they probably would disagree

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

If the article you posted earlier this week is any indication, UMass Amherst will be opting in too

    2025-26 Schedules Thread

https://x.com/GoNUmhockey/status/1932090367047881043 Seems like any schools that have a road game against NEU slated for the second semester might need to reschedule?

    2025-26 Schedules Thread

According to the writeup, the Lowell schedule is wrong, and it is on Feb 6. https://goriverhawks.com/news/2025/6/5/mens-ice-hockey-river-hawks-reveal-full-2025-26-schedule.aspx

    2025-26 Schedules Thread

https://goriverhawks.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/schedule Lowell is out. There is a conflict between one of their games with Amherst. Lowell has a game down for Jan 6, Amherst has it as Feb 6.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Do you know what circumstances caused him to only have half a season left of eligibility?

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Someone who is a part of the UML "Blue Crew" (the club that runs the student fan section) says it's unlikely the school is opting in for the roster limits, after all. This would seem to back up that claim; I can't see us using 10/26 spots on defense.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Well I might have been completely mistaken, as the XC/Track coach posted this today: https://x.com/UMLTRACKCOACH/status/1912465581728583987

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Nice to see us getting some drafted players again

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

How would he have eligibility left? He played four years, all after COVID

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

My only guess would be Nordlund because he went a full year without playing. Tate Brandon also falls into this category even though he's a grad student, and neither of them would appear likely to play next year anyway

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Do any of the seniors from 2024-25 have grad eligibility? I thought this past season was the last year of COVID seniors.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Says Becker is headed to Niagara, and Girts Silkalns is in portal too https://www.lowellsun.com/2025/04/07/colleges-umass-lowell-nets-high-scoring-forward-from-niagara/

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

With the roster limits, they have to get down to 26 players for next year. They had 31 this year. On another note, no Lowell players in the portal yet?

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Their fundraising campaign has reached $64.5 million in the last six months, and the wording on the website implies that a decent portion of the money is going towards athletics. https://www.merrimack.edu/together-we-rise/ Together We WIN Together, we will strengthen the Warrior community...

UVM Catamounts, 2024-25 Season, Does Anyone Care Anymore?

I may have just missed it, but apparently UVM is planning to opt-in for the new roster limits as part of the NCAA settlement, but I can't find anything about this except on a Merrimack news article. Does anyone know if the school made an official announcement...

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

I think this was briefly mentioned before, but my guess is they won't opt in. The men's XC team has been arguably the most successful team on campus this decade, having won five straight America East championships. They currently have a roster size of over 50, and the opt-in roster limits are...
