The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
As I sad a couple of weekends ago, this team plays to their competition. The best game they played is against UConn (which was at the same level as them) and they lost to two teams below them. 2 wins now in their last 9.
One bit of good news, Lowell alum Mark Carlson will set a record tonight...
They're now 5th in AE, this season is tanking fast for them.
Back to hockey for a minute ... March 1st is the deadline for schools to opt-in on the House v NCAA Settlement. Looking at the current commits on the roster, it doesn't appear Lowell will opt-in. From Mike McMahon:
I could be wrong, but feels like it's been a while since we had a hat trick, so it was nice to see Bentley get one. And we scored more than 3 goals, so there's that. Other that that, horrible weekend. 2 wins in their last 8 games. Somehow staying in a relatively safe space on the PWR (#11...
The guys on ESPN+ said there was an injury for Welsch, that's why he wasn't even dressed. I hadn't heard anything about it.
I have said this repeatedly on these boards, what keeps killing this team is the awful giveaways, over and over and over again, in their own zone. It's horrendous to...
Season isn't over for Lowell basketball, but for all the talk about this extremely experienced roster (15 players on the roster, 5 redshirt/actual freshmen and the rest all seniors or grads) ... and coming off the hope of 2 straight years of making the AE Final ... this team is in trouble. Now...

Thanks Scott. The HE site doesn't really clarify that point since it only states that they use shootout wins for the extra point in the standings: "While nearly every Division I college conference now uses shootouts to break ties after overtime is played, the NCAA uses W-L-T for record keeping...
We all know the Lowell "tradition" of playing down to opponents, so it's interesting to note that we have 9 games left and all are against teams below us (except one game against UConn).
I have three clusers of teams in HE at this point:
BC, BU and Maine. They'll all get home ice, have to be...
Because they have given up more than 3 goals just once in that time frame (BC last weekend).
Also, if people didn't know ... the game Friday night has been rescheduled for a 6:05 puck drop. It's going to be a late-arriving crowd for the Hawks.
After a hot start to the season, Lowell has now gone 11 games without scoring more than 3 goals. The last time was November 30th (2 months plus now) Lowell scored 4 against Clarkson.
Yet another WHL commitment (3 now) for Lowell, as we will be adding another defenseman for next season. 4* rated Luke Shipley of the Brandon Wheat Kings is the most recent commit. The 6', 187 pound right-shot is in his fifth season in the WHL, and third with Brandon and has a 13-30-43 in 44...
Thank you so much for the info. I can't speak to all the Lowell fans on here, but I know I haven't followed Major Junior hockey ... ever. So this is appreciated. I have heard the Knights being a great organization though.
Staying on the CHL topic, NEHJ has been breaking down what this will mean...
I'm going to go all the way to through the 2020 class on this page just because I try and keep a look out two years ahead. I'm completely guessing on some of these players entry dates, based on where I think they are in their development (based mainly on stats). Every current commit is now...
Well, with the season starting this weekend, time to start this thread up ...
28 man roster. 12 sophs, 9 freshmen. Young team (in regards to college experience anyway).
Scanlon wrote a piece in the Sentinel and Enterprise.
One key note from that article, Stefanson is out with an injury to...
