UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

On the recruiting note, there's also a certain level that falls on the rest of Barr's staff. While I'm sure he co-signs everyone that walks in the door, he's no longer the lead recruiter like he was at previous stops. I would imagine you have staff vouching for certain players, there's no way as...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Not to continue to jump around, but I wonder if there's a divide in the locker room over the Boija / Rousseau rotation. If you read Larry's article leading up to the UNH series, it was pretty clear most of the returning guys acknowledged Rousseau played well at BC but stood very firm in saying...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I wouldn't confidently say that it won't work, but there's also no way of knowing that it would. I'd venture it would begin with inviting a past player to come in and speak, or something along those lines before spending anything monetarily. In some cases, there's no substitute for experience...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Not to continue to give life to the troll, but I've felt Mr. Whistle was always connected in some way(s) to a player that left via the Portal in a prior season. Having coached with, and played for, coaches that are very similar to Barr - that coaching style is NOT for everyone. Those that...

I think you're pretty damn well spot on with that take, in its entirety.

Ahh yes, only a matter of time before Whistle shows up with the unsourced, "trust me bro", hyperbolic bullsh*t when the team has their worst weekend of hockey since Barr's first year in Orono. He was on the train of players transferring last year, and let's call a spade a spade, Antonnaci /...

I’m sure old Whistle will have plenty to say.

Whistle back to being a clown! A few good weeks of recruiting must’ve been his bat signal to come back. Name your sources with this chicken sh-t behavior.

I’m only terrified that Barr goes the NHL route. If he stays, I can’t fathom that there won’t be an influx of talent coming soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

Losing Niemo kinda surprised me given the playing time that seemingly opened for him. Honestly feel like it’s a leading indicator that Barr will be revamping the offense.

Very interested to see what Barr does with the forwards - would imagine we’d have a nice contingent of transfers headed our way. Still want Conmy…lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would be genuinely shocked if Barr didn’t revamp the offense, or add talent in some form. No need to worry for quite a few months - the man has added talent quite literally everywhere he went.

Maaaaaan Conmy coming to Orono would real spice up the Border Battle and could really fit what we need. Kid can really skate!

Little Scott has big shoes to fill from his brother, but hard not to be excited! Great add!

Sad to see Berzins leave, but as others mentioned should indicate Boija will be back. Also Ryder Shea seems like a higher quality prospect IMO.

100%. I wouldn’t say BU is the best team in Hockey East just cause they’re the last one standing. Tournaments can create some funky results!

If Boija is leaving, it’s cause he’s already decided. I don’t think any of the surrounding HE schools will influence it too much. I’ll never fault a kid for striking while the iron is hot, but selfishly would love him to stay in Orono for at least one more year!
