The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
It isn't a perfect solution, but I'd love to see "auto" at large bids for any team that finishes in the top 10 in NPI. This would introduce variability into the field size and would possibly push the field past 16 teams (and add an extra round) in some years, which is what makes in impractical...
It's annoying to see Aurora move up in the NPI after a bye week, while St Norbert beat the team that knocked Aurora out but managed to stay stuck at #5.
Yep so the list is basically Oswego. I did check 2016 and Stevens Point won the WIAC tourney that year too (in double OT), so Oswego is the only team since at least 2007 to win the NCAA tournament without also winning their conference tournament.
I only checked the past 10 years and Stevens Point has done it in 2016 and 2019 (although they certainly won the WIAC tourney in 2019...I didn't bother to check 2016).
Yes. However, there have been 4 at large bids almost every year since 2009:
2008: 3
2009: 4
2010: 4
2011: 4
2012: 3
2013: 3
2014: 4
2015: 4
2016: 4
2017: 4
2018: 5
2019: 4
2020: 4
2021: N/A
2022: 4
2023: 3
2024: 4
2025: 4
