Nubs may disagree, but I think Utica finally earned the "perennial national contender" title this weekend. They came within a post of a championship last night.
You hardly could have scripted it any better. The entire tournament was basically flawless, with nearly every game close until the final buzzer.
Last night's game highlighted the combination of skill and luck needed to win a championship, which makes Hobart's three peat all the more impressive.
I missed the first game when he was chased halfway through, but he was as lights out as you can be in a 5 GA performance in the Saturday game. He faced 54 shots and had absolutely no help in front of him. Made several great saves. It easily could have been 10-0 with a lesser goalie in net.
Fraser finishes his career with 78 goals (second most all time in SNC history) and 170 points (third most all time).
Dombrowsky's 34 assists this season tie the all time SNC single season mark. His 51 points are tied for fourth most all time.
