The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I have a screenshot of it somewhere, but I distinctly remember it being reported that the two finalists for UVMs head coach role were Ben Barr and Jerry Keefe (now at NU). And then you guys went with the creeper out of nowhere. It was bizarre then and is still bizarre now.
Brief side note...
I dont want to say Irving stole it for them, but he played a big part in them winning. Maine I dont even think played that badly, though special teams weren't great. I think discipline is now officially a problem though, so many penalties yet again. It was previously a Ben Barr hallmark to have...
I think only the third goal was on Boija. The second goal is getting scored every time, especially at 5x3, and the first goal I think we deflected. Also dosen't help that Langlois and Scott have each missed a yawning cage tonight.
I didnt really have a problem with the guy on play-by-play last night, he was alright. The color commentator was kind of obnoxious, as others have said. In all I didn't think it was that bad of a broadcast.
Regarding tonight's game, one reason I have some confidence is that aside from against...
I can't tell so far if this has been Maine looking excellent or UMass looking terrible. Probably some of both, but I'd be more inclined to lean towards Maine playing great (as a homer)
Gameday is here. I think what I said before the Quinnipiac series still applies here; a split is the likely outcome, and better than that is a pleasant surprise and worse than that would be a disappointment. Hopefully with a few more weeks of having played together, plus with a couple big wins...
I couldn't watch the game live tonight. I tried to record it, and watch it after I got home, but my recording got cut off early in the third period, just after Maine scored the 7th goal and BU lost their (foolish) challenge. So I wasnt able to see most of the third period.
All that said, I...
I really loved how they played tonight, and I would have said so even if they had lost. It was an excellent game to watch and was by far their best outing of the season so far. I think they looked much more like a team tonight than we had seen previously. The resilience is obviously the main...
Re, Boija; I saw a clip of the third goal/GWG for 'Gate from Fridays game again online and was even more stunned about how soft it was. It very may well be a mental thing for him at this point. Not sure where one would obtain advanced stats for college hockey but according to McMahon's...
Huge weekend coming up for both sides. BU has had some ups and downs so far as we have, so both teams looking to come in and show what they're made of against a quality opponent. I'm really looking forward to watching.
I definitely agree that this team is going to be a work in progress that improves over the course of the season. I would not be surprised to see them have a second semester winning streak at some point.
Really big win, one that they kinda had to have.
Honestly, aside from those few minutes in the first, I thought they played pretty well, especially in the third. That's a tough team to play against and they fought thru it, and this (hopefully) might become a touchstone moment that helps launch...
And by the way, something not related to the game itself, the video broadcast is honestly kind of pathetic. The game clock isn't synced up and runs after the whistle to keep up, and they dont even display the time remaining in a penalty in the powerplay box. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me...
I think this team is really missing Taylor Makar. He had the perfect combination of size, scoring touch, and leadership that I think the team is still trying to find.
