The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I think they'll break the skid this year but more likely they do it at home. But there are paths to victory this weekend. Wisconsin will be keying in on Murphy's line so it will have to be the second or third line that provides some extra offense. Or Clark, who's been great this year so far...
First time I've been referred to by acronym on here! I feel accomplished.
The last time Minnesota beat Wisconsin was December 8, 2023. Which wasn't that long ago all things considered. Minnesota won 5-3 despite getting outshot 36-22.
The last time Minnesota won at LaBahn was December 3, 2021...
Further shorthanded tonight with Paul and Hovland (injuries) out of the lineup in addition to the suspensions to the British Columbian contingent of the blueline.
If this were a centralization year they'd all be on the roster for whatever exhibition games they were playing. USA Hockey is just acting like a centralization year because essentially that's what it is.
Yeah, I'm in agreement here. Got off to the 4-1 lead on just nine shots and Minnesota's not blowing that lead. Not an ideal game from the analytics perspective, but they won, and that's what matters. That's what you need sometimes. I'll take this weekend result.
It's one game, early in the season. I recognize that. They can flip the script tomorrow. But when a fully healthy team gets outclassed at home by one of the teams they're trying to prove they're in the same conversation as… there are losses you can feel good or okay about. This wasn't one of them.
Milani is undersized especially by the standards of who the Snowman usually recruits. But this seems to be a player-driven decision, especially with the announcement coming this early. She must feel she'll have outgrown the OWHL and needs the next challenge. Plus there is Canada's historic...
The thing about O'Brien to me, and I'm saying this just to ask the questions, not to say she *isn't* worthy, but just what my thinking is being familiar with the pool.
USA's top two centers are Carpenter and Heise. Janecke was the 3C but was moved to wing to get her in the top 6.
I don't think...
Here's the US camp roster, assuming it's the same as it was in August.
F: Hannah Bilka, Alex Carpenter, Jesse Compher, Kendall Coyne, Britta Curl, Joy Dunne, Lacey Eden, Taylor Heise, Gabbie Hughes, Tessa Janecke, Hilary Knight, Abbey Murphy, Casey O'Brien, Kelly Pannek, Hayley Scamurra...
Yeah that's on me I rewatched the third goal on Twitter and it wasn't tipped, Hemp slid over late and got too little of a piece of it. The skater in front missed the tip.
Second goal was how I described it though.
They all were deflections. The first Laitinen got her stick in the way, the second hit Graham and then bounced off the St. Cloud player's skate, the third was a great tip. (Credit to SCSU's video quality, some of the best I've seen.) Minnesota was the better team in that game.
I still would...
I know my view is not unanimous and may not even be in the majority but as someone who does a greater-than-average amount of recruit-watching, would I trade getting the best American forward, the best Canadian forward, and the best Canadian defender in the 2027 class for better in-state results...
