The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Whenever a team in the ECAC is picked to finish at the top of the standings in the preseason, then "underperforms" in the regular season only to get their act together in February, it always comes at the expense of a top-4 finisher. We were the unlucky ones this season, and both RPI and Union...
This isn't quite an apples-to-apples comparison. We've had 4 seasons of the Spink twins vs. 2 seasons of Harder hockey so far.
The graduating class of 2016 as a whole was talented, which in addition to the Spinks, also included Kyle Baun, Mike Borkowski, and Darcy Murphy. Sadly, their senior...
Not gonna lie - this hurts. This REALLY HURTS!
2 years ago, Mike Harder became head coach of Colgate men’s ice hockey. In his 2 seasons as head coach, we’ve had 2 winning regular seasons. Each season we notched 13 league wins and a top-4 finish, avoiding the first round single...
We did it in 2023 (somewhat out of nowhere), we can do it again.
Here's hoping we come out firing on all cylinders tonight knowing very well that the season is on the line.
From 2004-05 through 2019-20, our record against Cornell (including playoffs) was 5-25-7. Then the Covid pandemic hit, and Cornell was forced to sit out the 2020-21 season.
Since the start of the 2021-22 season, our record against the Big Red is 5-4-2. We are an even 2-2 against Cornell since...
And so, we will host Cornell in a best of 3 quarterfinal series next weekend.
I really hope the Colgate administration and/or athletics department(s) organize something to promote attendance. Students go on spring break after their last class on Friday, and with Cornell not too far away, I...
And the winner of the 2024-25 ECAC Pick'em contest is...

I just arrived home from the game, and here are my thoughts:
The team seems to have gotten its mojo back after that OT win on Friday. They played like they were on a mission.
The "scoring by committee" continues, with 8 different players scoring goals this weekend (over both games).
It was...
Highlights: continuing to score at least 3 goals/game, and finding a way to win (and secure the bye).
Lowlights: coughing up leads of 2-0 and 3-1, taking 3 penalties in rapid succession in the 2nd period almost immediately after scoring our 3rd goal, taking a penalty with 27 seconds left in...
We certainly didn't make it easy on ourselves, but we secured the 1st round bye tonight. Also of note, Daniel Panetta returned to the lineup tonight. We're getting back players that missed time due to injury at the right time, and the bye only helps us here.
I was able to get a ticket to tomorrow's game at Union, the last regular season game at Messa Rink. It seems fitting that we are Union's last opponent in their outgoing barn, since they were the visitors in the last Starr Rink game.
It'll be more enjoyable (and less stressful) if we win...
Even if all that happens, it's not a guarantee Cornell gets a bye. If Dartmouth wins both of their games this weekend in regulation they finish ahead of Cornell since they have a head-to-head tiebreaker.
Friday, February 28:
Cornell at Union
Colgate at RPI
Dartmouth at Brown
Harvard at Yale
Princeton at St. Lawrence
Quinnipiac at Clarkson
Saturday, March 1:
Colgate at Union
Cornell at RPI
Harvard at Brown
Dartmouth at Yale
Quinnipiac at St. Lawrence
Princeton at Clarkson
Goals: 63
I've been using Excel Spreadsheets to tally the points. I then copy and paste them into this thread.
Before the forum update this was very simple and easy. But since the update a few weeks ago the poster names transfer over but not the numerical values. I have to then manually type them into...
In the overall standings, LetsGoTech16 is in the lead with 1 week to go. It seems appropriate that Clarkson fans are at the top of both leaderboards given their team's recent 7-game unbeaten streak.

The bad: we lost last night.
The really bad: we were the only home team in the ECAC that lost last night. Every other ECAC team honoring their seniors yesterday sent them off with a win. Except Colgate.
The atrocious: our penalty kill for the entire weekend had a 0% success rate. Yes, you...
Holy f***ing s**t, we found a way to win again! This time in very dramatic fashion!!!
With the win, we're guaranteed at least 1 home playoff game. 2 more points in our remaining 3 regular season games guarantees us the bye. We have head-to-head tiebreakers over both Dartmouth and Cornell.
