The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Since the trash talk between certain posters has been going on all year (and the past few years), I figured instead of having each of our team threads polluted, it can all be done here.
So get all your snarky, sarcastic, witty Lowell sucks, Vermont sucks etc happen here.
And go...
First thread was finally closed.
Have to admit, anything less than 3 points this weekend would be disappointing.
We're now 5 points out of second place with three games in hand on NU (who owns the tie-breaker).
I don't believe I missed an already existing thread, so please forgive me if I did.
Personally, very much looking forward to this weekend's series after the (desperately needed) bounce back weekend by Lowell out in Michigan.
This is the first league game for both teams. UML comes in at 3-3...
Well, never thought we'd be going into a season as the pre-season #1 nationally. Never.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, and there's a tough schedule at the beginning so the test will start quickly.
Anyone want to give their HE predictions for Lowell (what's Lowell's final...
The biggest reason for starting a new thread ... a commitment that I think most of us thought would come in 2014, will actually be heading to school this year.
Michael Kapla has been tagged to join the roster in a few months.
So the 2013 incoming class (I believe) is now:
D Michael Kapla...
Curious to see who people think will win this. I'll admit that I'm still surprised that Bazin didn't win it last year (yes, I'm biased) ... but anyway, here's the list:
Keith Allain (Yale)
Norm Bazin (UMass-Lowell)
Enrico Blasi (Miami)
Dave Burkholder, (Niagara)
Mike Hastings (Minnesota State)...
Well ... I don't think these two schools have ever played a more meaningful regular season weekend than this one.
With a couple of things going right on Friday (and a win), Lowell could win the HE regular season title for the first time. Lowell has now won 7 in a row, and is on a 17-2-1...
I know Lowell and Merrimack played last year in their biggest DI weekend ever ... for the first time both ranked in the Top 10.
This time they're playing (potentially) for first place in Hockey East. Lowell enters the weekend on a 5 game winning streak, and one of the hottest teams in the...
With Hockey East (specially teams 1-6 so congested), this is a huge weekend for both Lowell (currently 6th with 22 points) and BU (tied for 4th with 24). Lowell has beaten BU already this year, so owns the tiebreaker as of now, winning at the Agganis.
Should be a fun weekend of hockey...
Now that the old thread was closed...
Just another note that Pucks and Paws night is back on.
Oh, and Lowell hockey is currently on an 11 game unbeaten streak! :)
Lowell looks to reach double figures with their win streak this weekend, and break their record for most wins in a row in D1 (currently tied at 9 games).
I was trying to figure out why this series scares me, and part of it is the way Lowell started the season. Another part is Rawlings (if he...
Well well well ... feel the excitement of the #9 and #10 teams in Hockey East matching up! :o
It might be early, but both teams need wins at this point, desperately.
I'll admit, I'm petrified of this series. Maine is 1-8 (words I never thought I'd type). For some reason, that scares me. Maybe...
Well both teams haven't quite started off the way they might have liked, but this should be a big weekend for both as Lowell hosts Friday night, and BC hosts Sunday afternoon.
Having seen the first four games for Lowell (counting the exhibition), penalties are just way too high, and against a...
Well, figured with just over a week till the pre-season game, and two weeks till the home opener against Vermont ... I'd start up this thread and give people about two weeks to put in their regular season (both Hockey East and overall) record predictions.
There's still a lot of ifs that need to...
I'm so very happy with how this season played out.
Now the expectations rise.
4 seniors who all gave their hearts for this program, and happily (for them and for us) left this program on a higher note than they came in. Now the team has to pick up where they left off, and make next season be...
I'll post for a little bit here if anyone else is interested, or just go back to listening on my own.
Lowell up early 1-0, they seem to be flying so far. Budd his 6th at 2:07, from Kamrass and Pendenza.
Huge weekend for two of the three teams that have new coaches this season. Lowell (hosting the first night) comes in at 12-6 overall (7-5 in HE) and Northeastern is 8-9-3 (4-9-2).
Lowell currently is 6th in HE, 2 points out of the last home-ice spot, but with four games in hand on Maine. NU...
Should be a very interesting series between Lowell and UNH this Friday and Saturday, starting at the Tsongas on Friday. UNH is 4-4-1 in conference play, Lowell is 4-3, putting them one point behind UNH but with two games in hand.
Lowell has freely admitted they were embarrassed by their play...
