UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Thanks for starting this thread. While we may be "young" in terms of college experience, I have to think we're one of the older teams in HE.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Go nuts! Maybe you'll bring us good luck.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

    I didn't say it did. It's just a stat I was sharing.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

So if we continue to believe the USHL is the best US junior league, we've had two commits move out of the USHL to "lower" leagues and one move up.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

6 Hockey East teams are ranked in the Top 20 of the USCHO Preseason Poll. In the also getting votes category are Northeastern and Lowell.

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

This is related to the other type of hockey ... Congrats to Lowell Alum and River Hawks Field Hockey Coach Shannon LeBlanc on her 300th win as Lowell Coach. They did it in style beating New Haven 14-0, which is a program record. This was also LeBlanc's 100th D1 win.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

18-year old Lowell commit Stephen Grumley has been named Captain for the Sherwood Park Crusaders (BCHL).

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

I've updated the rosters above for the next two seasons. I had missed Dominic Payne, who's coming in as a Sophomore this year. Interestingly, the Lowell official roster shows Samuel Richard as a freshman. So I don't know what is correct, as this would make him a 24-year old frosh. Also, the...

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

It's completely understandable. With so many new faces, no goaltenders that have any experience playing at this level ... there are a ton of questions for this team going into the season. In some ways, I'm surprised we're even that high, but apparently UVM and UNH must have even more questions.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Yeah, I think that's wrong. Scott corrected me earlier on this thread. He played for the University of New Brunswick for three years. He's also 24 anyway.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

As we are just a month away from the 25/26 season, and there has been a discussion on the coaching situation as well .. here's an update of what the future classes look like. I'm using Chris' expected year of enrollment for these guys as my starting point (except for Kyle Jones). Obviously the...

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

Question for fellow Lowell fans. The past couple of years, I've defended Bazin and flat out said he had no chance of being fired. Worse comes to worse, and this year is another colossal failure (miss the playoffs or first round in the HE playoffs and out) ... would you want to see him given...

UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

I'll like it if it shows more Lowell goals and wins. :)

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Unsurprisingly, after the first couple of days in August, Lowell didn't pick up a commit. neither did UConn, UVM or Merrimack, and surprisingly enough, BC didn't either.. BU, Maine, UMass and UNH all picked up a commit, while Northeastern and PC picked up 3. Almost all the commits are 2009 DOB.

    BU Recruiting Update--Part 5

You all probably know this, but just sharing something from NEHJ. They do seem to imply Meyer will head to BU, but say BC has made a run on Sears.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Doesn't affect us, but NEHJ had a good article this morning about how the new recruiting landscape might affect those August 1st commitments. The expectation is the "big" programs will continue to get the commits, but it won't be as prevalent as has been in the past (but they did note, the...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Nice article about incoming Lowell player, Luke Shipley and his experience at the Nashville Predators camp.

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Edited to correct a mistake on my part. There were multiple comments made the past month or so though that they were hoping to add another Center. He's one of only two they have that's coming from Major Junior that isn't 21 (just actually just turned 20 and Diego Buttazzoni is 19), so I'm...

UML Recruiting: Finally in the 20s!

Lowell Sun has an article on the 14 incoming players for this year's class. Barry notes that they're still looking/hoping to add another Center.
