The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Not hockey related, but Lowell picked fourth in the America East Men's Basketball preseason rankings, and they even gave us one first-place vote. Which is shocking considering this team is almost completely new and has even more questions than Lowell hockey did going into the season...
The season opener, Lowell came out flying. Last night, they came out flat. Western Michigan took it to us hard and it was 2-0 quickly. Only five shots each in the first and second periods. They had moments where they seemed to come alive, but damned if WMU didn't just shut it down. I don't know...
Interesting note that won't impact this year's seniors, but there's a chance going forward that the NCAA will grant a fifth year of eligibility across the board. That's going to impact recruiting even more, I'd imagine.
Well, National Champions Western Michigan come to town this weekend for 2. They're currently 1-1, losing their opener at home to Ferris State before going on the road and getting the W vs the same club.
Let's see how the Hawks react this weekend to a bad loss at Merrimack.
I do think that Scott Borek is a good coach, so I expect Merrimack to come out better than they did the last weekend. Hopefully Lowell is ready for this.
Overall, extremely pleased with what I saw on Friday night. They gave me what I asked for (for one game at least); the entertainment at home and a win.
One player that needs to get some credit is Elliott. He wasn't tested often, but he did make some huge saves, especially late in the first when...
Good stuff, Scott. Thanks.
I genuinely don't know what to expect from this team. The defensive corps is almost all new. There are a couple of forwards that I hope to see a step up from (Delaney, Parks and Buttazzoni come to mind). Goal is a huge question mark.
Two things I'd like to see a lot...
Mike McMahon's Bold Prediction ... Diego Buttazoni to win HE Rookie of the Year. If that happens, this could be a better year then I'm expecting currently.
Thanks for this link.
I can't thank @cinnamoroll enough for his help this offseason with the CHL recruits. Honestly, I don't pay attention to Major Junior, so your posts have been greatly appreciated and helped give us some idea of the players we're getting.
