The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Watched a ton of hockey last night: here are some thoughts:
-Middlebury continues to be the most clutch team in the country, overcoming a sluggish performance to defeat Hamilton with 2 seconds remaining
-Stott remains the best goalie out there as well, but Williams earns a hard-fought tie with...
After watching that one, O’Kane is LEGIT. She is insanely improved from last season. I thought she was a bit of an Achilles heel on last seasons team, but she made some ridiculous saves last night
In term of contenders, Eau Claire, Oswego and Gustavus may badly need goaltenders.
Through 2 games, Gustavus did NOT fix that goalie problem from last year.
Heard there was a big incident at Adrian and the captain Johnson, (leading scorer last year) and the goaltender have stepped away. Multiple upperclassmen are also maybe thinking portal for 2nd semester
Chad Davis taketh and he giveth away
This is honestly great for the women’s game. Really good analysis and it felt like they could’ve done even more had they wanted to. They had lots to discuss.
Anybody have knowledge on any other scrimmage scores? I heard Augsburg beat River Falls but I’m not positive.
Also wasn’t sure about the Gustavus/Hamline and Naz/Cortland results??
It is, but that's what they should be working off of AT THIS POINT.
The USCHO voters never change anything it seems until very late into the season. At least D3HN values the results and not name brands when they're not deserving.
D3hn Preseason poll is out. Said this over in the mens thread, but don't be surprised if this is the only poll this year, as USCHO cuts are coming even harder.
Particularly for women, the D3HN poll was much better than uscho last year, so I think it's time to start recognizing this one over...
Preseason poll is out for D3HN. Pretty decent poll. I'm hearing this may be the only one this year, as USCHO has found a way to make even more cuts to staff, and I don't even know if doing a D3 poll is worth it to them.
IMO, I liked D3HN's rankings much better than Ushco's last year anyways
It is 6.0. However, the NCAA implements the change the following academic year, so that the “number is stable enough and not a one-off.” It will grow to 15 for the 2027 tournament.
And all of a sudden, the schedule is starting to fill up...
According to D3 Hockey News, they have 16 games scheduled:
HOME:
Anna Maria
Assumption
CT College
Franklin Pierce
Salem State
So. Maine
Wesleyan
AWAY:
Anna Maria
Keene State
Saint Mike's (X2)
Salem State (X2)
Southern Maine

True. In all honesty, this is a slam dunk hire for Hamline. With Carroll's time seemingly coming to an end at Gustavus, I think Augsburg and Hamline will run the MIAC for the next half-decade or so.
Women's will be very interested to see if they can draw.
River Falls, Plattsburgh, Norwich, Gustavus, Middlebury are a clear top 5 in terms of "will bid every chance they get." Oswego should be in this category as well, but I don't think they will put in consistent bids like the above schools...
