The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
A friend of mine who has never had season tickets got the same letter. So, first thought is that that is a mistake; call the ticket office and talk to them, to double-check. Or maybe you missed the window to make your request back in July (IIRC)?
Second thought is a much worse one: they are...
They can also eat meals, 'healthy snacks', etc, provided in their locker room/training facilities, Much like "tech" companies will provide to keep you there spending "time on task", they can get something to eat while studying or watching game video, and such.
I'm hesitant to post, because I'm likely to get accused of "cyber-stalking" (I'm joking, mostly), but a couple things I've seen, etc:
All the way back in 2010 - and the world has changed since then - I was working for the Census Bureau as a temp worker for the 2010 Census. And I was one who was...
The numbers don't really bear that out.
In 2022-23, she played in 22 of 36 games, and registered 16 shots.
In 2023-24, she played in all 36 games, and registered 26 shots. Also took a couple hundred faceoffs, after taking almost none the year before.
Her playing time didn't go down, it went...
As best I can tell, she graduated from Appleton North High in 2022. Then was at Bemidji for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years. Then 2024-25 at UW, obviously.
They had fallen behind in each their last five games, including the championship game; the two WCHA final four games, and then all three NCAA tournament games. A dangerous way to operate, and it almost burned them. But they had 'been there before', so their confidence was warranted.
They didn't ask Simms what I want to know!
The year before, Ohio State was playing in Madison, and somebody covered the puck in the crease, resulting in a penalty shot for UW. Simms took the shot, and it was against Thiele. She made very much the same far sweep to her right, come back to the...
The 2021 national champion UW volleyball team had a backrow defender named Georgia Civita. She was an all-conference transfer from Wichita State who had already had two ACL tears/replacements on the same knee.
At the end of September, that ACL went out again. (Subsequent ACL injuries are often...
We're also talking as if MJ sets lines and sticks with them. :)
I know this one because I've watched it a couple thousand times by now: during the OT of the championship game, Pickard gets tossed out of the faceoff. Which winger goes in to take the draw? Scannell. LOL.
(I think I can squeeze...
Of course. When the center gets thrown out of the faceoff, one of the wings takes the face-off. But the numbers are a few dozen, and not the hundreds that a center will take.
For the record:
Eden in the 20-21 season took exactly one faceoff; in 22-23, 2 faceoffs; in 23-24, 59 faceoffs; and last...
The stats page at the WCHA web site shows the 30 players in the WCHA who took the most faceoffs, along with won-lost totals and percentages. Four Badgers on the list for last season - O'B, Hall, Pickard, Scannell, in that order, with Scannell taking the fewest of the four, 224 total taken (O'B...
People think of "broken leg" as if it were a binary thing. But there's a whole range of things that might be called "broken leg" and yet have a wide range of recovery times. Some sort of hairline fracture or bone bruise or bone stress reaction, and she could be ready to play without missing any...
As long as I've gone into the business of starting new threads ...
Start with this rather eye-opening stat:
Wisconsin returns more 'goals scored' from last season - 186 - than any other team's total scored during the 24-25 season. Ohio State scored 155, Minnesota 153.
If Sierra used to sit behind the bench, he won't be anymore. If there's going to be a designated "visitor family and friends" area, it won't be in the revenue-generating reserved seats. Neither will any "Badger family and friends" section, for that matter.
So, figure out where he's sitting, and...
Just a few minutes ago, related to volleyball tickets becoming 'downloadable' this morning, there another email about the new ticket scanning procedures specific to iPhone users - which I am not. And I'm not sure I understand what it is saying, but it maybe affects iPhone users abilities to...
"$20 * 500" assumes all 500 sell. They likely will, but it isn't a given.
As for "trickle down", besides UW and Minnesota and (only recently Ohio State?), how many schools charge anything more than a "nuisance fee", if they even charge that?
