The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Marc Hubbard left UNH at the end of the 2023 season to become the Head Coach at NC State.
Try to pay attention before you post, Please and thank you.
Umile had winning teams in the early 90's before the Whitt was built. I don't remember when in the early 90's it was announced that a new arena was on the horizon.
If Souza is still dipping in to the Umile Play Book and deferring recruits "for one more year" and those recruits decide to change their mind about coming to Durham, then he should be fired immediately.
Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. (See Vecchione, Mike and...
Huh???......what????? Hmmm.....sorry Sparkadoodle, I can't hear you, see what you post, or give a fat rat's derriere either way. Thanks for playing!! :p  :poop: :poop:
You are in need of some serious psychological help, bud. Your obsession with Chuck borders on the creepiness scale. Do yourself a favor and find a hobby or just ignore him.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Maine's biggest advantage is in it's private endowments. There's a ton of money from the Alfond Foundation and New Balance funding improvements to Maine's athletics infrastucture. UNH is trying to move in that direction, but we are still far behind IMHO.
This is probably blasphemous, but in this day of budget cuts and scrimping every penny that they can get their hands on, perhaps UNH should consider cutting ties with Hockey East and go back to the ECAC.
Hockey East was the "new kid on the block" in the '80s and '90s and UNH caught a wave at...
As far as AD "Sugarbritches" is concerned, as long as fans show up to the Whitt and consume copious amounts of alcohol and concessions, and as long as the student-athletes maintain their above-average GPA's, win-loss records are irrelevant. :p:poop:
I see one, maybe two wins for the remainder of the season. This will keep them living in the HE basement, where apparently the accomodations are comfortable (forever pessimistic!!) copyright Jellsville ;)
A quick exit in the HE tourney, then hope for a resignation letter from Souza...
Guess it was time to get this thread going!
So we have our first six games of the season all at home, all but one against pre-season ranked opponents....and the first three are against BU (#1) and defending champs Quinnipiac (#2)
Come November, two additional games with Northeastern (#19) and...
Despite their 15-15-4 record which ended a four-year streak of losing seasons, UNH hockey fails to make the Hockey East playoffs for the first time in 32 years....and yes, all because of an arbitrary rule change made by Hockey East.
Lots to chew on this off-ssason:
