Colgate 2026-27

As for OSU, the Buckeyes are the heavy favorites. Our goaltending can be inconsistent and porous. We also spend a lot of time in the box. I would expect them to sweep convincingly, but will pray mightily for the split while our top 2 players are lacing up for Team Canada. Hoping ‘Gate can put up an equal fight.

A lot of the inconsistencies will fade as the season progresses and two of Ohio State's players are also gone to Team Canada. I'm really looking forward to the series and will do our best to make any visiting Colgate fans and family welcome in our very old school little barn.

I echo Tchr Bill. Expectations are OSU will win, but Gate has always enjoyed and thrived on being the underdog so who knows what will happen.
As always you are loaded with transfers which small schools like Colgate simply cannot lure with a limited curriculum, but no matter, it will be fun. That said we need to face BU first and keep the ball rolling...

Two, hard-fought, s/o wins in Boston, I’ll take it. BU deserved better but glad that will wait another weekend. They had some breakaways and could easily have swung the game in the blink of an eye.
Encouraging to see Minnesota put up 11 goals against OSU. This upcoming series is so important; put up or shut up mentality with an undefeated record against the favored team on their ice. I’d be thrilled with a split and believe ‘Gate can achieve at least that. I hope we don’t get into penalty trouble and stay disciplined. It’s tremendous for our successful program to have the Wisconsins, OSUs, and PSUs of the world be on our schedule on an annual basis. I remember our club status in the 90s, Title IX lawsuits, and painful inaugural years! Look how far we’ve come for such a small, remote school. Just phenomenal.

Women’s hockey was the ONLY Colgate team (football, men’s hockey, volleyball, field hockey, women’s soccer) to come away with W’s over Homecoming Weekend! Great sweep! On to OSU! Go ‘gate!!
