If these guys can step up, Lake State can have a nice year. The schedule is really unimpressive and youth is how the Lakers will win in this era.

Also I am surprised the media is only picking the Lakers 6th in the CCHA given LSSU has the #8 incoming class in the country

All road non-con this year with stadium construction. Hopefully some home CCHA playoff games on the back end to make up for it!

Laker legend Darrin Madeley is coming back to be Lake State's Director of Athletic Development.

They'll keep picking the Lakers 5th and below in pre-season CCHA polls until the Lakers prove on ice that they should have been picked higher. Huge changes to the lineup this season. I'm anxiously waiting to see how things go. Hard to know what to expect.

as a +1 to Bill's point- the thing w those incoming class rankings are how good a team is at putting it all together. being good on paper only takes you so far. i think they could achieve more but it's not hard to see why the media is skeptical. minnesota state gets the opposite of this even though they lost a lot on the back end and in goal, theyve shown that they do not die even when expected to, so everyone knows not to expect it.

takes a while to build such a reputation and the lakers could be at the start of such a boost with a strong freshman class. them and ferris state are in similar boats of a sort of rebuild, and both have strong incoming classes which is worth celebrating. hopefully it can start translating on the ice

i must say the production value feels elevated for sure, the Mackinac Island Superior Race video was fun. they also just released a video of Belushko talking about hockey in Slovakia. looks like they spent a lot of time hanging out over the summer and shared those team bonding videos.
