you will see his name spelled Beksultan sometimes, its just an alternate spelling. his own ig uses Bexultan so he prob prefers that way. he's Kazakh but has played in north america since at least 2023 in the Boston Hockey Academy program.

the royals actually just had a preseason cross-league series with Soko (and EVG)'s London Knights. don't ask how the first game went for London (Nate didn't play), but the second one (5-3 London W) both had assists. Yellowaga's was on the power play which is a good sign. EVG also had 2 assists and was wearing a letter. i think both games should have replays on whl youtube.

Kazakhstan is one of those former Soviet countries that has less of a strong hockey infrastructure but still a strong enough foundation of talent, so they move between D1A and the top division for IIHF competitions. he played in the U18 D1A for Kazakhstan in 2025.
imo a good pickup and he should be due for a step in production this season. his hometown makes Orono temperatures look awesome, though steppes are always way drier.
