Colgate 2025-26

Praying the Red Wings sign free agent Bobby McMann, coming off a 29 goal season...4 years at $5M/year looks doable for the Colgate grad and the Wings need a top six forward...McMann is ranked in the top ONE PERCENT of the NHL in speed at 6'2", 210 pounds...interesting enough, we went 48-78-23 during his four years at Colgate (only the 2017-18 season saved us from a lousier record - the year Colton Point had a .944 save percentage and a mediocre 17-17-6 record)...I'd call them part of the "Vicky Chun years"...
 
GreenCoat, thanks for making the June post on here. Getting it done early in the month is not a bad strategy. Who will make the July post? It is too soon to post, all, but be thinking about it.
 
Don't encourage me IBT...I'm here again...a rather strange group of incoming players, including 4 transfers...best prospect at forward would appear to be Tobias Ohman, but not sure if he has de-committed or not...we certainly need an upgrade in skill and speed at the forward position next year...our incoming goalie does look intriguing...

Maine announced its schedule today and Colgate is headed back up to Orono for the ‘reciprocal’ series, which is odd as I expected it to be in Hamilton.

BU announced its schedule and Colgate is hosting them for one game in the reciprocal ‘series,’ which is odd as I expected two games at home.

UNH announced its schedule and they are coming to Hamilton for two games in the reciprocal series, as expected.

Michigan State was not expected to reciprocate and they aren’t going to do so.

P.P.S. - ICYMI… Assistant Coach Anthony Walsh has left Colgate to go back to Yale. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=154533

Obligatory monthly post…

I renewed my Colgate season ticket (and parking pa$$) yesterday. Same seat. Same row. Same section. Anybody else on here going to be a 2026-27 season ticket holder?

Not TheGreenCoat, but may travel to Hamilton at some point...if I do would like to finally meet one of my hockey heroes...will generally stay at home, most likely watching a team that will win c. 45% of available points this year...seems like "same old/same old", but hope I'm dead wrong...

While the others on this thread are still in Summer hibernation, I thought I would look at our past successes in non-conference play.
Our 12-game non-conference mini-season is so important for the NCAA Power Index (NPI), which is so important for an at-large NCAA Tournament bid.

As my research indicates, historically, this has not been Colgate's strong suit. Having said that, we do have some real opportunities this coming season.
