BK Selects is listed as a 19U program, so it is very possible that she didn't have to enroll in the high school to be a part of what is truly a 19U Tier 1 travel hockey team, since she would obviously have already completed her high school education. If you look at the myhockeyrankings.com list of Tier 1 teams in the NY District for 2025-26, there are only 4 teams listed:
BK Selects 19U, 46-14-1
Nichols School Girls Prep, 25-40-1
Westchester Express 19U, 7-7-2
Rochester Jr Americans 19U, 20-22-2
Those records from last year would indicate that it's a one-team show at the 19U Tier 1 level in NY, and honestly it looks like those other 3 teams should probably have declared as Tier 2 teams based on their records. Myhockeyrankings.com has 14 Tier 2 teams listed in the NY District. It would seem those 14 teams figured out that it would be a waste of time to try to compete at Tier 1 because of BK. Anyway, I think it's simply the fact that BK is a 19U Travel team that she was able to join them just like she could have joined any other 19U Travel team that doesn't have a high school component. I don't see this as a big mystery. Sorry boys but you're all way overthinking this one.
