Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

There are a lot of companies that need the ol' 1980s Ma Bell experience.

How about the 6-7 companies that make up 80% of the supermarket? Make that happen for the people!

The white collar stuff can hold on a sec while we deal with life first.
Mind you, most of those 6-7 are regional, so they don't face each other much. So it's closer to the electronics and tech industry where there's hardly any competition.

I was talking about companies like Pepsi, General Mills, Kraft-Heinz, or Unilever. Where they have all the major brands under their umbrella. Frito Lay chips should be independent from Mug Root Beer. They control all the major name brands across the entire country. Sure there are unique products you see in the Midwest that you may not see in Seattle, but they are tiny in comparison to the big dogs.

There is certainly that too. Like how the meat companies are so bad to many of the growers due to lack of choice to sell. It’s a bad system.

All things foodservice. Sysco and Aramark, you're on notice.
Can't remember if it was here that I saw it but apparently Sysco has partnered with the Michelin Guide now. It might have started last year but I only just heard about it. That seems like the ultimate paradox. "The Michelin Guide presented by Sysco recommends the Applebee's out by exit 27 as the stop to make for lunch. Get a burger that is identical to the one at Chili's at exit 30 and a basket of mozzarella sticks this is indistinguishable from the ones at TGIFs over in the strip mall by the Walmart at exit 24"

Remember how a few years ago, Drew was all outraged that the labor participation rate was so low. Indicative of all them freeloaders sucking off the gubmint teat rather than work a real job?

Well, that number today is at a five year low. I'm sure he's just apoplectic about that. Just like he is with the national debt and deficits.

What do we need a billboard for?

Doesn't P&G have about 2k consumer products? They're the fucking Umbrella Corporation for household goods.

This is the difference between the free market yay and capitalism boo. Capitalism is inherently a finance racket.

Not sure how updated it is, as Bodyarmor was bought by CocaCola and they're slowly phasing out Powerade.

Business take over of this country has really put a damper on celebrating 250.

Especially how they have managed to convince so many people that hate is a valid reason to dismantle the last 250 years.
