Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

According to my calculations........only St. Lawrence and Wisconsin remain as possibilities for game opponents on 10/16-10/17. Could be a bye weekend as well.

Here's what is left for those first 4 October weekends...

10/2-10/3:

Bentley
Holy Cross
Notre Dame
RPI
Robert Morris
Stonehill
Wisconsin

10/9-10/10:

Army
Bentley
Colgate
Omaha
Quinnpiac
Robert Morris
Stonehill

10/16-10/17:

St. Lawrence
Wisconsin

10/23-10/24

Alaska
Army
Colgate
Notre Dame
Quinnipiac
St. Lawrence
Wisconsin

100 days out according to Twitter page which would mean October 2nd
Again....football game at 3:30pm on 10/3 so opening on the road? if so RPI, Notre Dame or Wisconsin remain only viable road options. And if that is the case they probably have a bye week in October.

Maybe....

10/2-10/3 - @ Wisconsin
10/9-10/10 - Stonehill
10/16-10/17 - Bye
10/23-10/24 - Quinnipiac

That weekend was the UNH scrimmage at Bowdoin last year. UNH is booked (at Quinnipiac) but maybe you see Lowell or Northeastern or Holy Cross or something. Two years ago Maine had an exhibition against Army on 10/12 (after opening against AIC the weekend before).

Second weekend in December is on the table, don't know why you've continued to omit it.

Schlossman reported earlier this week that Maine was in on the Ruck twins before they committed to UND. The recruiting news has been otherwise dryer than I would have liked following the Memorial Cup.
Yeah why does it feel like Maine is out of the recruiting loop? Did not expect this under Barr with new facility renovations. I feel like other top programs are eating Maine’s lunch in regard to paying players. We know that Maine is not in a position to open up their wallet but I’m wondering if bad word of mouth regarding Barr’s personality or coaching is starting to seep into recruiting circles.

Too many scenarios to keep track of. We know that a single Portland game is likely in December. I doubt that Maine is going to have 2 bye weekends in the first 4 weeks you can play games in October. I guess they could throw in a HE series though.

I'm delusionally choosing to believe it's because they are focusing on the big fish. But damn do I need a bite
