Colgate 2025-26

A tough outcome for the ECAC teams!!! I really thought Qpac and Dartmouth would advance further. Congrats on great seasons.
Babs....surprised to see you on the D3 Hamilton College thread, didn't know anyone went there ?

Shabby - no I don’t but I’m excited for a local team to advance to the Natty!! I wish I could watch it!!!
From a close friend and Hobart alum I understand the Bart netminder is the real deal. You can't argue with 3 nationmal championships in a row. Would like to see the Continentals do well, but it may be a bridge too far....

Great win for Hamilton College and National Championship!!!!!
IOWA - safe travels to the Frozen Four! Keep us posted, please.

Will do, Barb. I will pack tomorrow and then drive up to Ogdensburg on Saturday to pick up 84-year-old Clarkson Doug. We will board Amtrak’s Lake Shore Limited in Syracuse that evening, bound for Chicago. On Sunday, we will board Amtrak’s California Zephyr in Chicago, bound for Salt Lake City, Utah. There, we will meet up with Dartmouth Doug, who is driving down from Billings, Mt., and the three of us will go to the Edmonton Oilers NHL game at the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday night. That will be arena #153 for me. On Wednesday, we will drive to Las Vegas and meet up with frequent fliers Alaska Mike and Cornell Greg. At that point, my Frozen Fivesome will be ready for this year’s all-West NCAA Frozen Four…

Frankly Shabby it's a great question...my guess - and it's purely a guess - is that we do not offer NIL $$$...maybe I'm being naive but the value of a full scholarship from Colgate is sufficiently high that any extra incentives would be small in comparison...we probably follow Ivy League protocols to some extent and NIL there would've been published a while ago (and would also create some form of "outrage" from faculty and students)...I think it's gotten to the point where coaches and high level athletes (Neumeier in hockey; Cox in basketball) actually try and work together to determine what is actually in the best interest of the athlete. I believe this is Langel's approach in b-ball; i.e., continuing to advise wether an NIL offer from say, UCLA, will be the best decision in the long-term for Cox...and Harder recruited some high-quality and numerous defensemen for 2026-27, perhaps aware that Neumeier was good for, say, two years. Let's face it...the current system sucks and doesn't appear to be headed in any other direction. It is really hurting "college" sports...as far as MIH goes we've been very good in the transfer portal, not so good IMO in actual recruiting in the past two years. I hope I'm proved dead wrong next year...
