Frustrating. Once again the boys played very well against a good team. They are adapting to Lang’s system. We’ve had a few stinkers but in most we’ve been very competitive since the new year and just can’t quite get over the hump. Put a couple of goal scorers on this team and we’d have 3 or 4 more wins and a very different outlook.

how many of you would have bet that it would take a very good #9 Cornell team to go 4 rounds of a shootout to beat us?? We were 2.5 goal underdogs and almost no one wanted to even start this thread. This was a fast paced, hard hitting old time RPI hockey game and all the people who were not in the stands for it missed one heck of a contest. And to add the cherry on the cake, the girls handled Harvard rather easily for a rather successful day of RPI hockey!!!! Go RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Completely agree Doc. I think it has to be on the short list for top 2-3 complete game efforts on the year. None of us love moral victories, but that was a great effort from RPI. The foundation is being laid by this staff.

I mentioned on the air last night that a huge noticeable difference is player positioning. The first half of the season, you saw the brains working and players thinking about where they need to be on the ice. Last night, there was none of that. All the guys seemed to be exactly where they needed to be and they weren’t taking that extra second to think about it. Sure, there are mistakes still, but this unit is becoming cohesive which shows that guys are buying in to Lang’s system, which is a great sign. I think the kids love playing for Eric and staff
