Tough to win when you score ONE goal the entire weekend. Lang has four weeks to try to fix this offense. And the third period looked very similar to the QU game. Obviously we are still in the “crawl” phase. Let’s hope 2026 is better…

Lang inherited a mess. This is at minimum a 3-4 year rebuild and that’s with full support from the school finally. This year is going to be tough make no mistake about it lol

Unfortunately this program has been neglected terribly for 20+ years and it shows. The honorable Shirley Jackson was a disaster for the program. Zero investment in the program treated it like a D3 team.

Lang will need time to get his guys in. I like some of the pieces we have but we obviously need more talent particularly in the forward group. Like you said we are crawling at this point. Take a look at the first few years for cashman at Dartmouth or carvel at umass, Barr at Maine etc… it’s not until year 3 when things turn.
I will say AD bowers needs to do something about attendance and fan experience at the field house. It is absolutely terrible. Idk if that’s letting students in for free or giving tickets away but the place is empty with a weird ominous vibe going on here. I don’t even recognize the field house anymore. The place is depressing

Didn't you say they could get 20 wins this year lol? Always thought that was a crazy prediction, they were never going to be remotely good this year. Most important things this year are the recruiting wins

One night last year, besides Freakout, they did pretty good promoting free food (mostly pizza if I remember right) for students. That actually did get students to turn out albeit temporarily. Of course, they mostly vanished as soon as they ate all the free food and there was no more.

Teddy bear night on Friday also appeared to be a complete dud. Saw hardly anyone walking in carrying one. Instead, there was a table set up in the student side lobby stacked with teddy bears that were handed out to people as they entered obviously hoping that people would get to throw them later in the evening upon the first RPI goal. The only thing that prevented this promo from being a complete bomb was that later in the evening our offensive juggernaut finally exploded for their one goal of the entire weekend and the bears flew.

No idea what the no goal contingency plan was or if there even was one. Nonetheless, let's give this world renowned great engineering institution credit where credit is due. Apparently, they did not merely hand out teddy bears, they handed out aerodynamic teddy bears. They vast majority cleared the glass and actually landed on the ice!!!

Make no mistake about it’s called a prediction for a reason. ECAC is strong this year I thought once they got past first 5/6 games they could possibly get going. Quoting Tommy boy oh yeah like it was some other guy with a really tiny head. Lol

My question is a simple one. Are recruiting wins even remotely realistic or even possible without the collective (MONEY) to first buy and then pay bi-weekly or semi-monthly a sufficient number of the salamis on a hook that you need to win at the top level. If so, someone please specify exactly how.

Enough of this pussy footing around. Call current day D1 athletic exactly what it is and call who (players, parents, advisors, etc.) you have to deal with in this reality exactly who they are. Like wanderers, drifters, vagabonds, gypsies, leeches, blood suckers, sponges, meat on the hoof, gigolos and, yes, salamis on a hook.

Do we really, really need or want this anymore as opposed to maybe the institution running two sports involving ice at the same level they run 20 or so other sports that do not involve slippery surfaces???
