RPI 2025 Off-Season: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The presser was pretty good! I was hoping there would be some televised Q&A from the press after the speeches but they just had breakout sessions and ended the live feed. Coach Lang had some pretty encouraging things to say about his expectations for being able to win and support from the administration, which is the main thing I was listening for. It's great that he can do a lot with less, I'd love to see what he can do with more.
The presser was short and to the point. Which is good! Lang is a no bullshit guy. He will have this turned around quicker than anyone can imagine. Perfect fit for what rpi needs.

Loved his no nonsense demeanor. No need to wax poetically about everything. Family, passion, integrity. Championship level administration. We will win here, no blurred lines. Excel at things that require no talent.

Love all those quotes

Announced alum in attendance that were reported to me.....likely not a complete list:
Chuck Rancourt, Mike Sadghepour, Rich Scammell, Garry Kearns, Ken Kearns

Today is 15 April 2025. There are 172 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 4 October 2025 for the start of next season.

Anyone get to the reception / meet-and-great and get a chance to speak with him (or Schmidt, Bowers or any players)?

Curious for what you might have picked up from them in conversation, and the general vibe.

As others have reported, associates of the HFH Mafia that attended ...LOL....concurred that he was pretty black and white, very engaged and ready for the challenge. He was cautious to remind folks that this WILL take some time as the roster needs to be completely rebuilt. Crawl before you walk, etc. Effort and attitude will be expected and the work has already begun to rebuild the tradition. He took time to go to every table and introduce himself and to thank everyone for attending and for their passion for the program.

I agree, I feel like he could be The Guy. Dave Smith's hiring surprised me, and although he had things moving in a better direction before getting done in by COVID and Shirley, I never really felt like he was The Guy. Not to get ahead of ourselves here but with Lang I feel like we might have our Guy the way we did with Addesa and we did with Harkness. Hope springs eternal.

How many players are leaving due to graduation/portal? My informal count is 16 . . . assuming people still in the portal complete moves elsewhere. That's a big chunk.
Having followed Ralph's listings on the recruit thread I believe he had as many as 15 listed for 2025-26. Of course not sure how many of those will be coming for sure.
i believe that includes a couple from the portal.

It does include 2 from the portal, and indeed several others are definitely not for this year. I could change to my best guess, but I would make some mistakes. It is also possible that some won't fit Lang's plans.

Certainly just an estimate in any case but sure is nice to see such a substantial number of fellows listed. interestingly though so few were born in the USA. Not sure if I can recall us ever having so small a percentage of US born boys as part of our total number of recruits.
