100%. Legit Irish bar: Shaskeen PubBunch of places on Elm St.
Probably the best pub with easy walk to arena is Shaskeen Tavern.
Longer walk from SNHUrena: BuBa Noodle BarIf anyone likes Vietnamese food the Golden Bowl is a little gem, Beef Pho is great. It is right near the arena.
+1. Not all that far. Been around for 25+ years: Strange Brew TavernAnother good bar is Strange Brew, has good pub food, bit of a walk though.
Local chain founded by a UNHer. My Mexican go to is: Consuelo's Taqueria. Order at the counter, plenty of tables, beer and wine only,There is a Margarita on Elm a short walk to arena.
Mediterranean Italian. Arguably the finest restaurant in Manch, formed when Campo combined with sister farm to table restaurant Republic. Get there early. Order the fish special. Doesn't matter what it is. Order it. Or the Lentil stew if on the menu that day. Campo EnotecaIf you want Italian food I’d recommend Campo on Elm.
Yup. Same owners, less pricey is: Crown TavernFor steak Hannover Street Chophouse is great but pricey.
Also limited seating, but Alley Cat Pizza is consistently voted "Best Of" in several annual surveys.Do not expect great pizza in Manchester. The one place I like but isn’t a sit down place is Pizza by Rocco. That’s better if you want grab a large pizza and eat at your hotel or something.
KC's is the real deal. Go to the Arrow for local color or 24 hour service or to experience the hype of a traditional spot for candidates on the NH primary trail. It is franchised now. For better food, service, parking there's Belmont Hall. Short drive, open until 2:00 PM, founded by the family that owned the Arrow for years.Don't know much about the bar scene but for food you can get the Man vs. Food BBQ shovel at KC's Rib Shack or try out the nearby Red Arrow Diner.
BC is organizing a pre-game meet up at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse 11:30 to 1:45 on Friday. No registration required.A few additional Manch spots:
Across the street from SNHUrena: Shopper's Pub and Murphy's Taproom
Local chain: Thirsty Moose Taphouse
Manch institution: Puritan Backroom. Short drive, not a walk. Consistently voted "Best of" chicken tenders, make their own ice cream, legendary frozen mudslides. Large varied menu, great spot for a group that can't decide what type of food everyone wants to eat.
In general, pay attention to restaurant hours. Many aren't open as early and/or late as they once were and several not open on Sundays.
Don't sleep on the long standing Wild Rover, a block off Elm!Bunch of places on Elm St.
Probably the best pub with easy walk to arena is Shaskeen Tavern.
A back in the day Manch true pub legend. Thirty years ago The Rover was packed to legal capacity with a line at the door after 9:00 PM every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. It isn't what it once was, too many blaring televisions make conversation difficult, but they definitely have enough TVs to tune at least one to obscure ESPN college hockey broadcasts if requested. Contrast this with Shaskeen which grudgingly added their first television after being open a few years. To this day they still have only one television which they'd probably tune to NCAA hockey if no BB watching fans object.Don't sleep on the long standing Wild Rover, a block off Elm!
5 minutes of stoppages. No flow to this game at all so far. One time BC had a decent play developing a mystery whistle for goalie cover up that was never covered up at all, just bounced off him.The Turkey Baster is out in Manchester. Long delay. Good times. #CrashedNetRepair
It is from a Lake Freighter, the Willis B. Boyer, originally known as the Col James M Schoonmaker. It's now a museum ship docked on the river not too far from the arena. The goal horn in Toledo is even more obnoxious than the one at Merrimack.
Wonder if the ice will be any better tomorrow. The TV interview of the ice crew guy was funny. “It’s a lot of things”5 minutes of stoppages. No flow to this game at all so far. One time BC had a decent play developing a mystery whistle for goalie cover up that was never covered up at all, just bounced off him.
