    Where should Roman Achan play?

Does history matter when you miss the NCAAs again?

How much better was the Kohl Center 15 years ago?

Can we get any other fanbases’ posters banned?

Will this season turn around or end in someone committing seppuku?

All these questions and more in this newly formed version of our dysfunctional season thread!

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."

Canned music is a pathetic waste of your time.

Nice, haha. Solid W tonight. Slow starts are becoming a common theme.

Once they quit turning the puck over and settled in around halfway through the second they played a pretty decent game. I did think that the F's played one of their better defensive games. (which might not be saying much) There was a lot of back checking and sticks on pucks and in lanes by the F's which limited the weasels chances quite a bit. Something we need a lot more of going forward.

Didn't give up and kept after the game. Good team win and the kind we need to get on occasion.

Miller had one of his better games this year. So much talent, if we could just get him going along with Kalynuk, we could maybe put some wins together.

Just love this Holloway kid. He can really play that hockey.

Uh yeah. They went thru the motions for half the game before catching Michigan in a poor change and getting that first goal. After that it was slightly better but yikes that effort wasn't great.

Cole needs to actually try and play defense and not coast around in that end. Very frustrating.

Lebby was good but they continue to back into the zone and give shots up all the time. Again frustrating.

A win is a win, eh? Kind of slo-mo tonight. 2 teams not playing well as "teams". Not a lot of pop in KC tonight but it was a trifecta of occurrences. Thanksgiving, crappy weather, football burnout.

I might get flack for this, but is "Goal" Caufield the 2019 version of 2006 "Phil the Thrill"?

          Play 200 feet, son.

I'll set up the game against UWSP at K.B. Willet arena, you make sure he does the ear to the crowd when he snipes a 2-on-1 against a freshman goaltender.

Probably gonna be another sloppy game tonight. Hope the good guys come out on top. I will probably miss the first half of the first period while traveling home from work. It would be nice to score the first goal. Our record when we score the first goal is 6-1-1. When the other team scores first we are 1-6-0. I know it'll sound like an excuse, but that is definitely the mark of a young team. Play with confidence when you are up. Press and play poorly when you are down. Should get better with experience.

I do think it's a good sign that they came back despite being down 2-0 and they were playing rather poorly. Might take a little bit of flack for this, but wingers don't usually play great defense to begin with. Caufield is definitely a cherry picker. I noticed that when I was at the games against Duluth. I won't care about his cherry picking if he starts scoring again.

I forgot about that. I **** near jumped the glass.

I totally agree with you about forwards, just like defenseman aren't high scoring. But he's really got to expand his space. It was real evident last night. I'd like to look at some video of him on the USNTDP to see if he did it with them.

Should get better with experience is interesting for many reasons.

                1. Caufield, Turcotte and Lindmark played against D1 schools for 1/2 their schedule last year.
                2. At least 1 if not 2 of those 3 are gone after this season so there won’t be any way to capitalize on experience if that’s indeed an issue.
                3. Experience would be less an issue if the team had an on-ice leader like Steve Rohlik or Adam Burish.

This is a recipe for more excuse making from the coaches or Granato/Osiecki apologists if they miss the playoffs and Wisconsin is 7 years away from ncaa’s Which is absolutely inexcusable no matter what excuse is put forth.

Precisely, you nailed it. I see Turcotte, Caufield, Miller and (maybe) Kalynuk bolting after this year. But I don't think that's entirely where the development is. Guys like Achan, Holloway, Lindmark, Donovan, Gorniak, and Vorlicky should start having more impact with experience. Hell, Achan is a great example of improvement from the year prior. S. Dhooghe has been a disappointment this year. Baker as well. Zimmer was on the top line last year and now he can barely crack the lineup. The only upperclassman we have that is living up to expectations is Weissbach. Maybe Inamoto as well. Doesn't look good relying on the freshmen.

I'm still kinda ****ed that Granato said his job was to prepare these players for the NHL. **** you Tony, your job is to create a winning program. If he can't do that then it is time to find someone else who can.

Agreed on all of this. Baker and Dhoogie have been largely ineffective.

Zimmer I think has been overrated by the staff. They constantly talk about his potential but by year 2 it should have shown on ice.

And yeah, Tony can get lost with the NHL development crap. He should go back to being an NHL assistant.

Ugly ugly first half of game two. What is wrong with this team?

                      Zero energy again.

Maybe they recover from a 2-0 deficit again today, but even if they do this is not a good team. Get scored on short handed on a 2 on none breakaway with the entire Badger team trailing. Ugly.

                              Lebedeff made a tic-tac-toe save on a 2-on-none break.
