RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Last time I was there was for the Brown playoff series in 2013, and my last previous visit had been quite a long time before that. I know the band was in its current position in the northeast corner of the seating area, so the stage must have been gone. Guess I just didn't take careful note...

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

It's been more than a decade since I last went to a game at the Field House and I suppose there have been many changes since then. I got an e-mail from the Rensselaer Alumni Association today, including an article about the origin of the Big Red Freakout. The article is accompanied by a...

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

On the TV broadcast, after UMD's first goal, the camera panned to two fans standing up and cheering enthusiastically, and the announcers explained that these were the parents of the Plante brothers, who had combined on that goal. It was nice to see that the person sitting directly behind them...

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

For those who are planning to attend the games in Albany tonight, I'd be interested in knowing what kind of a fan following Penn State might have. I know the media around here devote an enormous amount of attention to Penn State football, and the football team has a huge following wherever they...

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Union scored in the last two minutes, but Princeton still won, 5-2. Clarkson scored two empty-netters in the final minutes to break it open, but they probably deserved to be ahead by several more goals. They outshot Quinnipiac 28-7 over the first two periods.

RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

I remember buying a used textbook from the RPI bookstore. When I opened it up, I discovered that the previous owner had been Bill Daniel, a member of the varsity hockey team. He had taken good care of the book. I can remember one year, the guys from my dorm got together and formed an...

So, WRPI is broadcasting the Liberty League basketball championship game on Sunday?

    Dartmouth @ RPI, Friday, 2/20/26

Is it supposed to snow enough that Dartmouth and Harvard won't be able to make it to the Capital District?

For which team did James Guo score?

    RPI at St. Lawrence, 2/7/26

Engineers have a chance to sweep the North Country trip for the first time since 2020.

    RPI at Clarkson, 2/6/26

Feels like RPI's been trying to sit on this lead for a long time.

    RPI at Clarkson, 2/6/26

It has not been a good year for RPI at all, but Clarkson isn't having all that great of a year, either. RPI did beat Clarkson earlier this year and has won in their last two trips to Cheel. Perhaps they can pull another surprise on the Knights.

    RPI @ Quinnipiac, Saturday, 1/10/26

Was there some question about whether the last goal was valid? First LiveStats showed 17 seconds left in overtime and the score was 4-3, Quinnipiac. Then LiveStats showed 15 seconds left in overtime and the score was 3-3. Then it went back to saying 17 seconds left, with the score 4-3, and...

    RPI @ Princeton

St. Lawrence lost to Yale, 8-1, so it looks like RPI will still have only the second worst record in the ECAC. It's kind of hard to find something to be optimistic about with this team, but I'm trying.

RPI at UVM 1/3/26 - Somebody has to start the new year right

An empty-netter, and then another one. The deal is pretty well sealed.
