University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Just taking HE barns, there are 5 with capacities above 6,000, to purposely draw a line over the Alfond (which I actually believe should be big enough). So let's say Maine is a 1 seed, but Alfond isn't big enough. It's likely that the 5 large rinks (UMass, BC, UHN, BU, & Lowell) would have...

"Bentley, for example." Think any team whose home rink wouldn't be big enough. How about UConn? Is that better for you?

That is good news. Now more of the coaches need to join him. Regional at the number 1 seed's barn. And if that is too small, it is easy enough to identify a proper venue in advance. Bentley, for example might identify the Fleet Center. Or even Conte if BC isn't a #1.

Or play Arizona. Pack a swimsuit and golf clubs instead of a parka and skis.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I agree that NIL $$ should be carefully considered. I'm simply of the opinion that these deals will only be lucrative for a very few players. And that the vast majority of athletes who get deals will only be buying some clothes and a few rounds of...

AMKirby, I get it, but I worry that the value of a college athlete shilling for a business isn't as great as some may think. Seriously - how much is OBC paying a UMaine hockey player? Two grand? Five??? In the end, I believe NIL money will fall into two camps: 1) reasonable money for a spokesman...

I don't know, Wally. I think things need to sort themselves out a bit. I can really see these young guys making decisions based on a (very) few dollars today, and lose out on (many) dollars in the future. The old days of picking a team to play for based on the coach and the staff's ability to...

I'm a Babson guy - friendly rivals with Bentley in business academia. It's a really good school to land at to set himself up for work after hockey, whenever that is.
