The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
My final visit to Matthews over the weekend. Lots of memories over lots of years but there's no denying that the grand old lady is showing her age. She will be missed but her offspring will no doubt prove to be worth the long wait.
Brown looked stronger than I anticipated but the NU defense...
Another appearance by Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on Saturday. Hyde doing his best to make life miserable for the first two periods before the nice Dr. Jekyll returned to restore some semblance of normalcy in the 3rd. (let's not talk about the PP or 3x3). Grateful they were able to steal a point...
I don't like to criticize officials (try working even a kid's game sometime) but, instead of embellishing, Hajibi was on the receiving end of a textbook sluefoot, which is universally considered a dirty play. And the missed offside on the first BU goal was textbook obvious. And downright...
Throwback unis (never thought they should have dumped them) and something resembling throwback NU-BU hockey. Nice having a D1-caliber backup goalie. Was waiting for Joe Connor to make his presence felt.
Tomorrow at Agganis looks like a season-on-the-line game for BU.
What was especially galling about last weekend is the fact that this "defense first" team that typically smothers the shooting lanes and waits for opponents to make mistakes itself yakked up two goals on Saturday (including the GW) on cringeworthy miscues of their own. Same could be said for...
Stonehill might be among the best one-win teams ever at this point in the season. Or one of the unluckiest. Now I can understand how they hung with Penn State for two games. Happy for NU that they'll get to ruin someone else's weekend.
Lawton Zacher deserves all the plaudits he's been...
I'll take #14 after so many years in hockey Siberia. But left to wonder what was in the coffee of the voters who had Denver (with 3 losses and which NU shut out) at #9 and UMass (decisively beaten) at 13. But that's the nature of national polls. Brand recognition counts.
NickP (above)...
I'll admit to being a glass half-full guy. But in my wildest dreams, I never imagined wins over the defending national champ, a recent national champ, and a sweep over a perennial blue blood. Will be interesting to note if the national poll voters even notice.
The Denver and both BC games have...
Quality NPI win tonight. A few points:
Rope-a-dope on-ice 2.0 for two periods. More than held their own in the third, especially faceoffs.
Lawton Zacher can now officially be mentioned in the same breath as Cayden Primeau and Devon Levi
Best season start in awhile, especially considering that...
