Great last post. As someone who got to know the Coyles quite a bit, your post is spot-on.
To further support your point about Charlie not utilizing academic support resources at his disposal, I was part of a conversation between Charlie and his dad following the last BC game regarding this topic. We started talking about WJCs and its impact on Charlie taking his finals. I brought up how previous Terriers in his situation had worked w/ such resources to reschedule their finals to earlier dates to accommodate WJCs. Charlie said he hadn't contacted such resources, at which point his dad got on his case about why he hadn't made such arrangements.
In retrospect, I strongly suspect Charlie already made up his mind by then. It's disappointing how things played out, especially its timing. Hopefully as Charlie continues to mature, he'll learn he could've handled this differently.
