The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I wish Eisele the best. He's been a warrior for us. But we do have some real offensive potential coming in this year with Pritchard and Kernan, so I feel better about losing a forward than I do a D-man.
There's a pretty good Aviation major at the school (Sort of a running joke for Stunt Monkey and some of the mid-game promotions). I know they do a lot of simulator training, but I'm guessing a lot of actual flights. Wonder if that counts in the number of flights out of the airport.
Don't have any statistical data, but as a CCHA season-ticket holder, I've often thought our refs are a little "5 Happy" when it comes to penalties. Now I'll have to start looking for numbers.
I forgot about Tech. Old school (points, not percentages), we're 9 up on them, with 12 points to play, so they're still alive. We need to earn at least 3 to beat Augie anyway, so the scenario is no different with Tech.
Just heard the news. I don't know enough about the school to say. Is this an institution in some financial trouble, or is this really a strategic decision to rebrand?
Wild guesses:
Perunovich
Leonard
Michaelis
O'Connor
Swayman
Dugan
Abruzzese
Jason Cotton
Sucese
Kawaguchi
I tried to hit every conference. Don't know that voters will do the same. Might have reached on the freshman, but he put up big numbers.
Come on! We have to have a playoff thread, don't we?
Anyway, some interesting numbers concerning who's "coming in hot."
Second Half of the Season records
Kato 11-2-1
LSSU 9-4-1
NMU 8-4-2
UAF 8-5-1
BGSU 7-5-2
BSU 6-5-3
Tech 4-8-2
UAH 4-8-2
Ferris 4-8-2
UAA 1-11-2
I know, I know. Some teams...
Because someone had to start one.
Questions - Will one of our goalies seize the net this year and make it his? Will some of the freshman be able to make the leap this year? Will our early start be "that which kills us" or "that which doesn't kill us and makes us stronger"?
Bring on the season!
Wanted to start the thread anyway, and now have some news:

I'm assuming this is good news. There's a lot that grad assistants can't do, but it's still...
A Maverick team I haven't figured out, but am starting to like, visits the highest ranked WCHA team. Tech fans are rooting for a split, and without sounding like a sandbagger, I'll join them in wishing for that! Flame away.

Rochester's Riese Zmolek, son of Doug, commits to MSU. I'm guessing we're looking at USHL this fall.
It's good to get in the running for more in-state talent. For the first 2 North Star Cups, our roster has had the fewest Minnesota kids of the 4...
Mavericks make their first WCHA trip to Ferris, then the North Star Cup, then Ferris again in Mankato. For the Bulldogs, it's a scheduling quirk of Mavericks, @Mavericks, @Falcons, Falcons. Obviously, these next few weeks are make-or-break time for Ferris if they hope to defend their McNaughton...
Kato coming off a terrific weekend in the UP, and now heads back to try for more points. LSSU started slow, but is 3-2 over its last 5. Can the Mavericks match the intensity level they brought last weekend, or is this the dreaded "trap" that sports announcers and unsuccessful bettors like to...
